Going To See Va Medical Center Director (falty C&p Exams And Incompendence Of Np Giving The Exams)
After 2 months of writing the VA Medical Center Director in my home town. His office called and granted my request for personal appointement for my wife and I. This has been a long and very frustrating road. I had a C&P exam done by a N.P that was beyond human uinderstanding. I have never been treated with such disrespect with her launguage and her comments concerning about my health and my family. She also informed me that becuase I am disabled my wife and I shouild not have adopted our children and on and on. I got a copy of that exam and she put in there very statements I said and according to her I was not as disabled as my doctors said I am (Coming froma N…

Contacting The Va Secretary
I called today to get a status on the NOD that I submitted in August 05 for my stroke. I was told that the VARO was waiting on my response to their letter asking if I wanted a traditional appeal or a DRO. I told the lady that I responded to that letter in Oct 05 requesting a DRO review just like I had in my original NOD. I then asked since there was no record of my response did this mean that my appeal was dead. She said no she had the authority to input my request directly into the computer and this would start the process. She then said that they would now start the appeal process and I should hear something in about six months. I then asked her what about the 5 m…

Had Idea
I have sent the VARO lots of priority mail lately-the most recent letter today asking them point blank where the administrative decision is-on my claim re: Bonny V Principi- sent to VARO 3 years ago-as soon as the Bonny regs were published. They stated in mail to me twice this would get an administrative decision-That makes sense- it is not a rating decision) but apparently this administration has no decision makers- I also told them that of the 23 submissions I made of evidence and IMOs only one single submission has been read so far-they tried to misinterpret my interpretation of medical symbols in the veteran's med recs- I reminded them that a cryptology/linquist …

Active Duty Help
My daughter is active duty at Fort Knox. Last fall she had an ear infection and they put drain tubes in her ears. They waited so long that now she has to wear hearing aids. I told her that it is my thought that she has to wait till she gets out in March before she can file a claim for hearing loss. She has copies of all her SMR's. Brothers and Sisters, any information to help her would be appreciated. THANKS! Terry Sturgis

C & P For Osteoarthritis
Upcoming C&P for OA with bone necrosis resulting from many years of spec/ops. Many doctors, both private and two VA docs have diagnosed my condition and determined it to be service connected. Claim Denied because symptoms started soon after discharge. RO commented that doctors provided no rationale and that the diagnosis was speculation. In my occupation we were advised of probable early onset of arthritis. Young people don't heed these warnings. An appeal with docket is in place, now I'm notified of a short notice C&P. Anyone have a hunch what is going on?? My activities are very limited due to pain and I'm on a special accomodation with my employer. Very …

tdiu Va Eaminations And Rating For Back Injury
First, before I start this whole thing I'd like to say that today in a decision dated 29 December 2006, in a claim started 15 Nov 2002, I finally received a 100% Permanent evaluation for my spinal chord injury. While I was previously had a combined rating 90% TDIU P&T, It gives me a great feeling of satisfaction to finally see a 100% rating for my initial injury. At this point with the one rating of 100%, I am over the magical 160%, so with some study I think that a claim for housebound might be appropriate. We’ll see, like I said I have to study CFR 38 and see what really is the criteria. In the past 4 years that’s one of the most important lessons I have learned.…

Va Claims Error Rate
Men and women- Knight Ridder and other vet orgs published the 2004 stats on the error rates of the VAROs in handling claims- some time back- it was also posted here- My VARO's rate was 16 %- heck-there is an error rate of about 80 % in my recent SSOC! I was thinking- these stats are most probably based on AMC (Appeals MAnagement Center) figures? Dont know but let's face it- didn't someone at the VA itself ultimately add up these numbers? Regardless of who prepared these figures for every VARO- and I hope new stats for 2005 come out soon - not all claims were considered -I am sure- because they dont even read all claims- I filed some in 2004 , still not ev…
