New Claim
I'm a 30% disabled vet and was given the rating for high blood pressure and a fused 11th and 12th broken vertebrae. Recently, I was told by a cardiologist that I have Sudden Cardiac Death and Super Ventricular tachycardia. I was sent to an electrocardiologist for further evaluation and last Monday I got an SVT heart ablation which failed. Within a few minutes of the failure, they put in a permanent 2 wire pacemaker. Today, I contacted my DAV rep in Big Springs, TX and he told me to get a statement from my doctors indicating if my high blood pressure was a cause for my SVT. I contacted my cardiologist's office and they said I had to talk with the electrocardiologis…

Filing Question
I need some advice. I am currently in the waiting game for the BVA on 2 conditions. One is a low ball on depression (10%) and the other is to get service connection for DDD of thoracolmbar spine. I filed my form 9 in Jan08. Now for my question: I am currently SC for DDD cervical spine (30%) and have been experiencing migraine headaches every couple of days for over 2 years. The VA has prescribed Maxalt XLT and it helps me get rid of the migraine, but doesn't prevent them. During my last VA visit with my physician, I asked him if he thought my migraines were due to my cervical problems and he said "yes, absolutely". I asked him if he would put that in his report (my progre…

Confused About What To Do
I haven't had much to do with the VA for 30 years. I never thought I would need to be looking at a rating increase. Here goes: I was sent to a medical board in 1978 after 6 years of service in the Air Force. I had crushed my ankle and had 3 surgeries while on active duty to repair it. Left the AF with 20% rating at the VA and went on with my life. Today, I am much much older (59) and the old bones have decided it was time for them to give me grief. My ankle is full of arthritis and I also have a mal-union of the tibia and fibia as a result of the original facture. Hard to believe I have had this all these years and only now is it keeping me from walking too …

C&p For Adjustment Disorder
I received a letter for a C&P appt tomorrow. I was given 30% for OCD back in 12/07, adjusted form general anxiety of 10% and now there requesting another appt. Anyone know why? Anyways, the issue has gotten a lot worse (i.e. OCD is destroying marriage, friendships, cant sleep well, and have 2-4 panic attacks a week.). The only issue is that I am afraid I am showing signs of bi-polar disorder as well. If they detect that, would it be servce connected? (I dont know if its possible for OCD to turn into bi-polar disorder. My fear is that they are going to say it existed prior to service, but it wasnt. I just don't want to lose anything, but of course will take an increase…

Expidited Claim
Hello to all, July of this year i wrote a letter requesting aid & attendance for my husband. I listed his conditions to the best of my ability. My letter was compelling enough for a phone call this past Friday on our way to yet another appointment. The VRO asked if I could have a DR fill out A&A and fax back to her same day. My husbands home health care nurse took charge and got it completed and faxed. DR had stated he was terminal and was unable to be left unattended. I received another call saying exams are being set for expidited claim for both A&A and adaptive home also. Not sure what time line an expidited claim will take?
