A report by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VAOIG) says dozens of military veterans incorrectly received letters indicating they would lose unemployment benefits after an overworked VA staff member in Seattle lost track of records they had submitted. VA auditors took a sampling of 132 employment questionnaires and determined that one-fifth of the veterans had been sent letters indicating a reduction or cancellation of benefits, even though they had mailed forms that should have allowed them to continue receiving money. The VAOIG report is available on the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General website.

Someone here had this problem recently...I forget who.....

Years ago John999 recommended making copies of the annual questionnaire and marking your calendar to make sure you send it in and they get (get proof of mailing) whether they ask for it or not ,so this BS would be avoided.

The IG report says "dozens" but in VA spin that might mean hundreds of Seattle vets.

You guys maybe  referring to something else  unless you mean the employment questioner?

I was sending my questioner in every year  until I reach the 10 year mark and  I got a letter from my VA RO

stating it is no longer necessary to send in this employment questioner   This has been 3 1/2 years now without sending it in.
