  1. Had NOD in since March 31, We have not heard a word, How long does it take for them to send a letter that they are looking at it?
  2. Hang in there, your pay should be coming to you within a few weeks, you should recieve a letter of approval, and then within 15 days recieve your pay. I would call the 800# and they should be able to tell you exactly when you will recieve the money. I called and The lady was real nice told us when the money would arive and also the amount of money JohnM's Wife Dianne
  3. John's is SC for back injury and he got 60% Yes you should file for a higher rating and do what Berta said. JohnM's wife Dianne
  4. My sister-in-law and I both tried to email and it was rejected,I am going to try and call him today. Is this also covering DII or is this just for cancer? my brother has several lung problems that his primary doctor did not tell him about, but did write in down on the medical papers, as of yet he has not been diagnoised with cancer, but he is having several problems with his upper respitory, He will be going to a pulmanry doctor soon, since we read the medical reports that explains why he is having breathing problems. and John Has some breathing problems which we will be bring up to his doctor at the VA Clinc in two weeks, he does have a lot of problems with broncitis and always needs air. JohnM's wife Dianne Thanks for the info, we will be getting in touch with them today
  5. JohnM was stationed at Camp Lejeune for six months, I do not know about the fuel oil, but was wondering about the water contaimention, we have not heard anything about that as of yet. JohnM's Wife Dianne
  6. Berta and Evandc Please tell me how you can on the list? Who do we call? How do we get on? I have two Vets that should be compensated by the chemical companies. We did not know anything about this until we started the VA compensation, Its not right for these vets that where exposed and it is just showing up now do not get anything from the law suit of 1984. Every Vet that was in Vietnam should have been notified of this law suit back then. Just like Every Vet should have been notified on Water pollution, which they where not.
  7. I have fiberoymalgia and yes it is pain, pain, and more pain. to correctly be diagnoissed you need to see a pain doctor, if I am not mistaken there are 18 pressure points to determine if you have fiberoymalgia. A regular medical doctor can suggest it is but should send you to a pain doctor for the diagnois, to make sure it is. It took two years before they finally diagnoised me. Otherwise they where treating me for artheritis. Artheritis is something that comes and goes, Fibroymalgia is constant pain, and you can not sleep. I would sit in the recliner and John would come home from work and try to kiss me and I was in so much pain I would be like a robot and not move and say do not touch me. For the fact of someone touching me hurts. If it is fibroymalgia, then the pain doctor can put you on the right medicine, till I was diagnoissed they had me on vicadion like it was candy and artheritis medicine and it did not help except for me to get hooked on the vicadion.
  8. This was very interesting and I thank you for it. It sound like if we want we can do it on our own, but that's a lot of money and time I was hoping to have a group of us fight for this.
  9. Back in 1984 Veterans of Vietnam were compensated from the chemical companies who supplied agent orange. Most Vets did not know of their illness till much later in life. Does anyone know if there is another lawsuit with these companies to compensate the Vets that did not recieve anything? Does anyone know of a website that we can read about this or find out about this? My sister-in-law said she read something about a lawsuit but did not understand it and also did not save the article. She is not to good on the computer and did not think of saving it. JohnM's Wife Dianne
  10. What you wrote down here, I would send it to your state repersenative and congresman, they need to know exactly how these c & p exams are being evaluated and this is a good one for them to see. if a doctor would have treated me like this I for sure would have made a complaint to the board.( Which I have already done to Three Doctors ) I will not tolerated any bad respondes. I had one doctor coming the room and seen I was heavy and before he would exam me for why I was there he started jumping on me about my weight, I got dressed and walked out of his room, I had another doctor ( a specialist) exam me, told me to take vicadion like it was candy, go back to work, I do not have fibermyalgia, nor will I get SSD, well I took vicadion like it was candy, I do have fiberymalgia, I never went back to work and I did get SSD, I also go more depressed because of the vicadion, tried to end my life. another doctor told me because we were going to pull the plug on my father that I was killing him ( he only had 10% of his heart left) and did not want to be hook to life support, 4 hours later he died. I made a report to the medical board on him, although they could not punish him because it was not neglegant they did put a write up in his file on his behavior, But two years later he got what was coming to him> ( He's no longer with us in this world) it sounds cold but they way he jumped on me he deserved it. and he was the heart doctor on top of it. anyways My feeling is that No One Needs to Be Treated Badly and these VA Doctors that everyone is talking about Needs to be Put in their Place. So far John and I have not had this problem every doctor we have seen Has been very nice including the C&P Doc's. And at anytime we would run into one I myself will turn their little -ss in, and if it is something to do with The VA itself I will report it to State repersenative ( Tammy Baldwin) and Congressman ( Russ Finegold) JohnM's Wife Dianne
  11. Early this morning John and I ran into a Veteran who spent 43 years in the military when talking to him he had mentioned that if a vet was exposed to AO they are entitled to $400. a month when I explained to him that John was 100% he than said he would not get yet. Has any one heard of this? Is this new or old info? Is this something that some one with good knowledge can find out for other Vet's JohnM's Wife Dianne
  12. Trying to get the Goverment to admitt to this is going to be hard. But here it goes: Anyone on A/c carrieries where exposed continually to P.O.L.'s from heavy fuels to JP also solvents. This is bound to effect the amuine system. However, the Navy and VA will never admitt this, for fear of lidigation. Example: Camp Legune Water Contimunation. Only certain people stationed there when this occured where notified. On carriers I do not believe it was AO but the continual exposure to toxic fuels and solvents. JohnM
  13. jjrbus: I do not want to be negative about hearing loss and tinnitus: but the real fact is even if you can proof noise exposer for some reason it is hard to get a precentage. On JohnM's service medical papers it states hearing loss three times and they conceded on both because of combat but still denied him any precentage of course we filed NOD, we have not heard anything yet and that has been since March of this year. My Brother who also was in combat and demolition during his time in service was also denied. and I have read where others where denied. Please do not take this to negative but file for it, You need to fight for everything, do not let this slide it may take a long time but eventually you will win. JohnM's wife Dianne
  14. We have recieved 4 private doctor letters and are waiting on one from our own HMO doctors that my brother's illness are more likely than not related. Once we hand these in does this mean that VA will regonize his illness'es? I am sure he will have C & P's done but can anyone tell me if they go Just with what your doctor has said? He has been seeing these doctors for years due to his illness'es, Will this be all the info they need outside of the doctors records? Thanks in Advance JohnM's Wife Dianne
  15. We filled out the form on line and sent it in. yes you need to send all documents I believe also a copy of mariage certificate and birth certificate. It tells you on line what you all need to send in, then it takes about 6 weeks before you hear anything. we also took the extra 20 which cost 93.40 a month eventually they will deduct that from compensation check but here in Wis. they haven't started that yet, they said hopefully in Sept. If you fill it out on line you can also fill three beneficary's out or how many you want for us it was three with me being the first on down the line. Mrs. JohnM, Dianne
  16. John has a exam this morning for ED, How do they test for it and what Question do they ask? He also has lab work to be done. We do not have Intimate relations anymore, maybe once a year put then it only last for 3 seconds. Can anyone tell us how they go about proofing ED. Thanks in advance JohnM's Wife Dianne
  17. If you go to the website body index mass you can type in your weight, height and a age it will then calculate it for you and also tell you if your over weight, or obess. before my weight lost surgery my body index mass was 45, it has been 2 years now and my mass is now 27 which does not consider me over weight. Yes being over weight can also be bad for both hypertension, djd and drepression. I am a firm believer that once you have been diagnoissed with depression it will never go away but you can get it under control with proper medication and help. with weight loss you can get hypertension and djd also under control but it will also always be there.
  18. Go to ArmrdAngel website scroll down to Vietnam!Dioxin Kills Pg2. It talks about glaucoma as secondary to diabetes.
  19. I am sorry I should have add this in my last post. It is also a legal term when writting anything legal like a Will, Insurance ext. AND means all parties OR means either parties. The best way to understand And / Or is my example of your checking account or savings account And means BOTH Or means Either one must sign.
  20. It's like writting a check if you put Mr. AND Mrs. Both must sign if you Put Mr. OR Mrs. either one can sign. So I would say if they write down OR than it would be either one if they write down AND they would mean both.
  21. Each year insurance goes up, This year John and I paid $8,000 and once he starts recieving Medicare his insurance would have been dropped. I already have Medicare so Once I got the ChampVa card I discussed it with John and we dropped Our other insurance. I don't know if that was the right thing to do, but as far as now it helps the pocket book and it seems to look good on paper but I haven't used it yet, so we will see. But in my opinion Champva is secondary if you have Medicare and Third if you have other Insurance with a child and if your wife is working I would still keep your other Insurance, the premiums come out of your pay check and it should not hurt the pocket book, I would also say it depends on what kind of insurance she has.
  22. Well John just went into the VA for testing of Menier's the Doctor said he does not have Menier's put believes his dizziness is from Neuropathy. John is 100% to include his diabetes and neuropathy in the legs. Should he file a claim for neuropathy for the dizzines? I told him we should file but he is tired of all of this and going to the doctors for everything. What should he do. Thanks Dianne
  23. You asked who said: The woman at the appeal in Milwaukee,WI last Monday said to have the VA Pyshic fill out a form and for LeRoy to fill out the form for IDU and hand it in before the end of the week and she would grant him the 70% PTSD and IDU to give him a 100% But his medical conditions are worse especially his lungs, and of course we just found all of this out in the last few months. Thank YOU for your answer I will fax this to him and his wife right away.
  24. We are waiting on the dicission on the appeal of My Brothers PTSD, which she said she would be willing to give him 70% plus P&T. But we have other medical conditions to file and we have so far Two HMO Doctors stating " At least Likely as not" for two other conditions. Question is should we file these if they give him 100% and would they consider an HMO DR. saying at least likely as not. I see Betrayed is 290% what does this all mean, you can only get paid for a 100%. We are waiting for 3 more doctors and he will be going to a pulmnary specialist so that would be another Dr. Thanks is advance for your answers. JohnM's Wife Dianne
  25. My Brother had an appeal yesterday for increased PTSD percentage. They said if he had the DR. fill out a form they would be willing to increase his PTSD from 50% to 70% Paper work needs to be in this week. Question: At age 59 He had to retire due to Medical; HE his now 66 and last year lost his life insurance, so he started to work for his Nephew driving a pick up truck part time Before he got any compensation from VA, and he knew nothing about TDU. And he didn't know if he would get anything from them. because his condition has worsen, This year he can not work. Last year his Nephew said that he had scared him because of his condition. Now they are going to increase his percentage and said they would give him 70% with TDIU and P&T. He stated to recieve compensation in June of last year of 50% He worked till Nov. of last year. How will this affect his retro pay if they go back to when he filed and the form he needs to fill out is form 21-8940 application for increased compensation based on unemployabilty. Should he put down that he worked Part Time. Thanks for your Help JohnM's Wife Dianne
