  1. Hey Infantry,

Thanks for the comment. I know, just keep holding your head up and moving forward right? We have all been told that through out the military. I have two brothers that went Navy, then went National Guard for the last 20-30 years. Oldest brother is Jarhead to the soul. He did his time during Beruit. He is still, and will always be Marine. So my family has been around, dad did his thing in the Navy during Vietnam. Not sure what else to say but THANK YOU to all of my brothers and sisters out there. We are the SHIT right?

Yes...we are the shit!!! Only bad thing is, VA treats us like shit! Lol! I was Army infantry. My wife's grandfather was Marine infantry and fought 2 tours in Vietnam. Regardless of which service we come from we are all brothers and sisters!
  2. Great new for you Glass. I am new on here. I have had a claim in since Feb of this year. Went to the preparation for Desicion on October 7th. Still nothing new. I know the waiting game quite well but the bill collectors are not waiting very well. So good luck to all. Would appreciate to see who got what for compensation if that is not too personal?

Sorry, my date was September 7th for the Prep for Desicion.

Most everyone will say all claims are different and you can't base one time line on another but mine went to prep for decision may 18 and a decision was made oct 31 but hasnt moved any since. Knowing a decision was made 3 weeks ago and I still have no idea what it was is driving me crazy.

One a funny note, I actually get embarrassed when I look at "account activity" on ebennies cause it always shows several times logged in every single day. It's good to know I'm not the only one checking so much lol.

  3. Oh I've tried that before. I couldn't get ahold of my local AL office for 2 weeks (they were all on vacation) so I called the regional office that is located in the VA RO here. He cussed me and said, you are military and know the "chain of command" don't call me call your local AL office. I said, I hadn't been able to get in touch with them and he said that didn't matter to not call them. He was a total jerk!!

  4. It is Sunday. I am waiting....hopefully...

    Hey Free...

I just wanted to check in with ya and see if you've had any news. Today made 3 weeks since mine went to pending decision approval. I am patiently (only because I have to) waiting. I had hoped, once I got to this phase it would go faster but I forgot...it's the VA here, nothing goes fast.

  5. Welcome to hadit!! Glad for you to join us! Each claim is different so it's hard to compare them with a estimated time frame. Mine went into prep for decision on May 18 and didn't move until Oct 31. But, like I said, they are different. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here that I'm sure can help you every step of the way. God luck to you and again, welcome!!

  6. infantry,

The VSOs have access to the VAs website, and they can see directly where your case is in the process.

I called my VSO and asked what the status was on my claim cause it went to pending decision approval and was told, they find out the same time I do. I asked if there was a certain person they could call to find out and she said, no, we don't know anything until you do. It didn't make sense to me but I wasn't going to argue with her about it.
  7. With TDIU unless you have gone back to work you are not apt to lose it. If you read the regs on this it is hard for VA to cut TDIU.

They (VA) sent me a letter saying I had till Feb 1st to turn in the questionnaire form. I faxed it on Jan 22. Even called to make sure they received it and was told it was in VA's computer system and everything was taken care of. March 1st my check was cut 2/3. I called and was told the computer didn't recognize that I sent it in and it would take approximately 3 months to fix. Now, they've got me reapplying everything all over again under a Administrative Review. Its going on 10 months and I'm finally in pending decision approval. It's been a crazy mess! And a crazy financial mess for me!!

  8. i have had a couple good ones. but the last one i dealt with had the audacity to tell me the va screwed up when they gave me IU. he didn't bother to look at my record or read the evidence when he called and told me that. he's dav and i am finished with them. haven't had a good vso in about 5 years.

My old VSO told me, if I put anymore claims in that I would lose my IU. I believed him so I never did. I have about 4 good claims and 2 so/so good claims. Don't let a VSO tell you, that the VA must of messed up to award you IU. If the VA gave you IU it's because you earned, deserve and need it. Comments like his really tick me off!!

  9. Keep busy bud, and we will always pray for our own. God bless and take care.

I don't know what I'd do without ny good friends here at hadit. Without you guys, I'd already been insane. I feel blessed to have each and every one of you on here. I consider you all great friends! You "all" are in my prayers!! Thanks to everyone for keeping me sane! Lol

  10. With our claim, it sat at pending decision approval for three weeks. I figured it was taking so long because we would be due a large backpay ($20,000) if approved and would have to be 'signed off' by a bunch of people. I kept saying 'No news is good news'. It sat in pending notification for another week and a half. Then the end of August it hit E-Bennie's. Claim closed and I could see the letters (Commissary, ID's etc.) Under the letter generator it had the monthly amount shown. We're still sighing relief and can't believe it's finally over.

Here's hoping you have a similar outcome!

This is just my opinion, but it seems the claims examiner's are under such pressure to relieve the backlog, they are looking at the cases as a whole and are not being so critical, trying to 'find' a reason to deny the claims.

Good luck and we're rooting for you.

In any case, thanks for your service.

If mine is "approved" they owe me 18 grand. Thats the amount they've shorted me in the last 9 months. I've been in pending decision approval since Oct 31. I'm praying it comes back approved cause if not, I'll probably end up losing my house. Along with everything else I own. But...I'm trying to stay positive about it but the "Not Knowing" part is killing me lol! Thank you everyone for your advice and support! You have no idea how much it means to me!!!

  11. Question: Is 18 days a average time frame they tell you just to get you off the phone or does it really have some sort of significance to it. And also, do they consider "pending decision approval" notification phase? She did say, a decision had been made and I would receive my decision in the mail. Nothing on ebennies has changed. I'm trying to be hopeful but I'm not feeling the good vibe of an approval....
