  1. Well.....Since I couldn't drive to the Region office today I decided to call down there instead. I was transferred to the main AL guy. I explained to him what happened. He looked up my info in the computer system and said he couldn't believe what was going on. He said, all the VA has been waiting on all this time is the employment questionnaire form. I told him I've filled out 3 and faxed them all in. 1 I faxed myself and 2 was faxed by my local AL office. He said VA has NO copy of any of the 3 I've sent in. He also said he couldn't understand why my local AL office opened up a new IU claim to begin with when all they needed was that form filled out and that is what the hold up is. He also said AL opened up a new dependency claim too and all my dependents were updated and correct. He said for me to go to AL first thing in the morning and have them to stop whatever they're doing and call him immediately. He asked if there was any way I could prove that I faxed in any of the 3 I faxed. I told him I had proof of all 3 and they are all time stamped. He said for now on, he's personally taking care of my stuff himself because evidently the others didn't know what they were doing and the AL has my stuff all messed up. I'm so glad I decided to call there today!! He seemed real pissed off at how AL has handled things.

  2. Senator Joe Manchin's office is who I contacted. The lady I spoke with was very interested in helping me. She said she has been working with/helping veterans for many years but has never heard something like my situation before and couldn't believe it happened the way it did. I'm supposed to call her back today to let her know whether or not I want/need her assistance. She asked what AL said when they were told what happened and I told her, they said this was new to them and would be a learning experience for them. She didn't seem too happy with their response and said they should have had this fixed months ago. And I couldn't agree with her more.

  3. I had a cousin, cousin wayne, who used the lotto system to pay his bills when hard times hit. He would write all his creditors names on a little piece of paper and put them in his hat and pull out 3 or 4. Those are the ones that got payed that month. when the creditors would call, complaining, he would inform them that they werent picked that month. And if they continued to harrass him, thier name wouldnt even go into the drawing the following month.

It got quite comical as the creditiors would call and ask if they had got picked after several months.., haha

That's a pretty good one, I may just try that. It would give me a good laugh and with the week I've had, it would be the first.
  4. According to AL, VA gave me my IU back and everything I had before they took it stayed the same which means my son can go back to college on ch. 35 benefits. My VARO is over a 2 hr drive one way so its a little hard for me to just drive there. I did get mad and frustrated on Wed when both my electric and water companies came to my house threatening to disconnect me plus a call from my mortgage company threatening foreclosure. I explained everything to them all but none seemed to care about my situation. So I called my senator's office. I only gave my first name but explained everything to her about what happened. She was completely confused as to why this happened to begin with. I told her, she wasnt the only one. The AL, RO and every other vso I've talked with couldn't make sense of it either. She advised me that it would benefit me to allow her to help me since everything has already been rated and I'm just waiting on final steps. I told her I would think about it and call her back on Monday to let her know. She also said (along with everyone else I've talked to) this is the first and only time shes ever heard of this happening to a veteran and she thinks they've made a mistake somewhere. I told her, VA admits they were the one who made the mistake. I'm just not sure if I should allow them to get involved or not so thats why I'm asking my friends here at hadit what your opinions are cause I'm not sure what to do.

  5. My claim was rated on Oct 31 and it's been in pending decision approval ever since. I'm grateful that its got this far and its got the attention it has. But, if it doesn't start moving a little faster I'm afraid I'm going to lose my house. My question is...would it benefit me to contact a senator at this stage or would it hurt me. I am willing to do anything at this point if it would help move things along faster but I'm not sure if that would be the best option or not. If anyone has any advice, I would grately appreciate it!! I'm desperate and any opinions would be helpful. Thanks!!

  6. Thanks for answering guys. I was confused but I understand it now. I guess my mind and frustration is starting to get to me. I had seen the light when I move to decision approval phase but I been there over a month and I guess I'm back in the dark with anger towards va again.

  7. If you can your medical records I would somehow get a copies of them and send them in yourself. I think I've read in here somewhere, if they have to get the records themselves it slows things down a lot and who knows if they even get them or the right ones. For now on when it comes to VA, I'm gonna be the one to make sure they get what they need cause these different departments the va has don't communicate with each other very well. I'm proof of that!! I'm sorry to hear about your wife and hope things get better for you.

  8. Also it still says

    evidence requested past due

DBQ PTSD physical initial closed 12-3-13

    FDC closed 12-3-13

Saying that those things have not been received from me????? Ebennis glitch?

Mine has said, "evidence requested we never received" but in the part that shows "evidence received", has it there and some of them twice. I talked to Peggy and she said sometimes they just don't update everything like they should and all my stuff was in there. Mine was rated on Oct 31 and I still haven't heard anything from VA. If it would ease your mind call them and make sure. It's better to be safe than sorry but you have to remember...were talking about the VA here. Good luck to you! I hope you get a favorable decision soon!

  9. I have a question. I read on here, if you receive ch. 35 benefits you are p&t. Do you have to send in the employee questionnaire form every year if you are p&t? Can someone please explain this to me a little cause I'm confused at how I lost my 100% cause VA says I didn't send in that form. I've never sent one in any year before and I've never been told I had to. I've to this day never received one in the mail either. Are you required to send them if you are p&t?
