    Ok!

Fantastic!!Congratulations to you and your family
  2. Congrats on your win.The check will come!!Or so they keep telling me!!
  3. Congratulations.Way to hang in there and fight.Mine was finalized on April 11.10% to 100% and still waiting on the big check.Glad to see you got what was due to you!!
  4. Congrats on your victory. On my appeal the DRO actually granted the TDIU without my doing anything. From my claim file they realized I had been out of work for a long time already and was not employable so they added it in automaticaly. The first SOC I received only showed 70% PTSD but then I was sent another claim decision that showed the 100% about two weeks later.I still haven't received any letter finalizing it or anything about retro but they did say my monthly would start in June so that helps. They also said it was P&T back to Oct 2010.They do have a TDIU claim form you could send in but that would be like starting a new claim I think.Sorry I cant be of more help.
  5. Made contact with the Regional Office in Phoenix because it's impossible to get any help from DAV.They are saying it will be at least 2 more months before I even get a verification letter and after that I'll receive my retro. They said they have one person in their office that handles that department of disbursal and he is backlogged. They are just now handling Feb. claim disbursal now. They have got to be one of the worst RO's in the system and nobody does anything about it.
  6. Not a word or letter other than the SOC about a month ago!
  7. Still no word on when any money will show up.Nothing in AB8 or monthly increase at all.Typical Phoenix RO at it again.
  8. In my case, they just looked at all my claims at once although my original claim was in the appeal process. My claim for TDUI had just been filed a month ago so hadn't gone anywhere yet but they still looked at it and granted it along with my original claim. It all happened fast although it took years before they even looked at it!
  9. Glad to hear it hogchick.Must be the time for good news.Let's hope it keeps comming!!
  10. HOLY CRAP!!!!I just left the RO and was checking on the time frame for the retro and they told me that I was also approved today for IU retro back to Oct 2010.Are you kidding me.They said for an amount that large it would require 3 signatures so the time frame would be approx.2 months at the worst. The girl I talked to said she would work on it personally after hours for me to speed things along. It's so hard to believe that for four years I couldn't seem to find anyone who cared and now everyone I meet at the VA Regional Office has been remarkably helpful. From 10% to 100% in four years all retro.Wish I could say it was all worth it but just don't feel that way. Thanks again to everyone here.I'll keep you all posted!!
  11. Thank you all for the acknowledgement and encouragement. It sure gives a guy the heart to be grateful after so much frustration and disappointment.Thank you so much!!
  12. Almost three years not hearing anything, had been flagged for hardship a year ago, tried DAV ,tried politicians, tried everything but got nowhere.I went to our regional office in Phoenix on Thurs the 10th of April and talked to a young gentleman about having been evicted from my place of residency of 10 years and he had me sign a statement and then he hand carried it to the decision makers.Guess what, that's all it took. This kid accomplished what congressmen,VSO's and I couldn't do for three painful years in 15 minutes. When they tell you they do things in the order received it's all bull.It takes finding someone that cares to do the right thing and follows through.I received my SOC on Tues. the 15th stating I was increased from 10% to 70% for PTSD retro back to Oct 2010.Not thrilled yet because I've read horror stories about people not getting their retro for months.Dont know what happens from here but at least I've gotten some response. Thanks to all you guys out here on HADIT.COM.You've all helped me hang in there.I just hope now they dont take forever with the reto as I owe alot of it to family and friends.
  13. Be happy you don't live in Phoenix .I was using a gentleman out of John McCains office who did nothing for me and my claim that has been sitting in the Phoenix RO for 3 years now. They lead you to believe they can do something but then when they run into any difficulty they drop you cold.McCain and his cronies have been pushing very hard for a plan to get the homeless vets off the street so every time a homeless vet files guess what, your claim gets bumped to the bottom of the pile.Nothing against all the homeless but It pisses me off when some guy with a less than honorable discharge takes priority over one who served honorably especially when they're drugged out juiced up vets that don't give a damn anyway.I know not all homeless vets are that way but the ones you see on the street corners begging for money are the ones I'm talking about. The politicians don't care they just want to make themselves look better to the voting public. Some of the vets don't want to live inside but are more than happy to receive an additional 800 a month for non service connected disabilities. The vet who served honorably and filed properly has to take a back seat and the politicians don't care and don't have the power to do what they say they can do anyway. Thier hands are tied as well. The VA does what it wants and the bull about processing claims in the order they are received is just that ,a bunch of bull. Anyone can be bumped at any time. This guy in McCains office told me he's still working on RO appeals that are 6 and 8 years old.So what does that tell you about how much the VA cares about politicians.
  14. You've got to stay on top of it at all times and don't trust your VSO to always tell the truth. The VA told me also that a request had been submitted to withdraw my claims so they closed them without sending me notification.Just doing what they were supposed to do.This all happened after waiting 3 years for something as simple as a request to increase a PTSD claim from 10%.After a month or so I went on e-benefits and it showed no open claims. It ends up a guy who was transferred for not doing his job at DAV as a parting gift sent a request to withdraw my claims.I'm still trying to straighten out this mess.Eventually it will get straightened out but I'll have to do it all on my own.DAV headquarters could care less about it and the VA seems to have misplaced the letter requesting my withdrawal.Going on 4 years now and has been approved for hardship and nobody still gives a damn at any level. So everything still sits at the RO in Phoenix.
  15. It'll take some time but I should be able to get everything back to where it was.The manager of the office where he worked is being more than helpful right now but I'm curious to see what will happen when I ask her for a copy of the letter he sent to the VA.Any bets on whether or not it disappears mysteriously. It should be in my VA file at the Regional Office but I've heard of horror stories where you cant trust them either.I've got a politician watching my back now also and he seems like a straight shooter.Haven't told him yet of the fiasco.`The stuff could hit the fan here in Phx before it's all done with.
