  1. I am assuming you mean the letters you can generate on ebenefits? If yes, you will have the option to include that you are unemployable due to your service connected disabilities, if they give your PT that will also be available. You can print the letter to include the information you need. I hope that helps.
  2. I wish this were always true, the VA finally awarded me IU after initially denying when I sent in my SSA decision. I had initially filed for IU in Jan. 2011, the VA didn't deny until August of 2013. SSA awarded in Jan. of 2014 with a date of January of 2009. Guess how far the VA paid me to? September of 2013.....of course I was told not to fight it, my kids have college benefits, champva, etc. don't rock the boat. The VA will find any reason not to give us that backpay and scaring the crap out of us that we may lose it is a huge deal. :(
  3. I have had an large amount of dental work done through VA dental, root canals, crowns, cleanings and I am currently in the process of having 3 implants done. If you can convince them to consider implants instead of a bridge it is worth it, well it is to me. I am only 44 and I didn't want to have a bridge or partial. The process for implants takes about a year from start to finish but the results are pretty great!
  4. You have to be rated 100% schedular, TDIU, rated for a dental condition, have your primary care doctor say that it is needed for health reasons (that one can get dicey) or be in Voc. Rehab and have your counselor send in the need in to the dental clinic for you to be seen.
  5. I am currently in the process of receiving implants for 3 teeth, I had them pulled under general, bone grafts and then 5 months later (today) the posts were put in. I will be completely done with the process from start to finish in about a year. There are people who are candidates for implants and some that aren't, I think many dentists outside the VA are happy to take your money and let you run the risk of not having a good result honestly. I have had phenomenal dental care from my local va clinic and the regional hospital.
  6. Can you please show me where this definition is to attach to my claim for housebound?
  7. I know a spouse who gets caregiver money and the veteran is not rated at 100% or IU, he is in voc. rehab, runs triathalons and volunteers as a church leader. I don't think that this program is as hard to get into, maybe at a lower lever of pay, but sorry that disabled veteran can "do" much more than I can and the VA not providing the same benefits to all veterans is a shame at best. The SSDI program also does not provide champva like the VA caregiver program does for the caregiver.
  8. That is what I figured, I am ecstatic, now to try to fight the date of eligibility ;)
  9. Just wanted to send an update. I contacted my VSO at the regional office. He went to see the rater because he was confused about the chain of events, etc. The rater was out but he spoke to her supervisor, they decided that the claim needed to be looked at again. The regional office opened an administrative review (showed up in ebenefits). I received an email from my VSO this morning stating that they are awarding Chapter 35 benefits. WOOOHOOOO I had no idea that this could be done but am grateful that it was.
  10. Finally figured out what is going on. My initial claim for IU and P and T was filed Jan. 2011, denied on August 2012, filed for reconsideration March 2013. The entire time the reconsideration was up on ebenefits it said Iu (reconsideration only) P & T When I just checked my closed claim the P and T is gone...........seems that I hadn't worded the reconsideration for the P and T to be included.........nicely played VA, nicely played.....seriously, they could have called and asked me, seeing as I was only awarded back pay to September of 2013, jerks.
  11. The craziest part is when I talked to my American Legion rep. at the RO, he doesn't know either, yet someone from the American Legion signed off on it, wow!
  12. If I go onto ebenefits it does not have a choice for permanent and total, just receiving unemployability. I guess I was really hoping the no future exams scheduled has some significance, why else would they bother putting it on there? Also, my claim specifically asked for P and T, if they denied it are they not supposed to state a reason?
  13. The decision section states : Entitlement to individual unemployability is granted effective September 30, 2013. The What We decided Section states: We granted entitlement to the 100% rate effective September 30, 2013, because you are unable to work because of your service connected disabilities. No examiniation will be scheduled in the future.
  14. I filed a claim for IU and P & T. I received an award letter that state I was granted 100% IU, nothing about P&T, except that no future exams are scheduled. My VSO has no clue about the P&T, I called the 1-800 -827-1000 line and the woman said oh yes you are coded at P&T, I will send you a state benefit letter so you can use it for your taxes, etc. I received that letter today, it state permanent and total NO, I also received a letter to have an id card made that states no future exams scheduled. This all seems to contradict each other. Can anyone offer me some guidance? I have 2 kids in college and the Chapter 35 and ChampVa are super important!
