KansasNavy got a reaction from ShrekTheTank in IBS Secondary to GERD or Presumptive
Shrekthetank,  I did get a diagnosis back in 2016 by a real stomach Dr.  My PCM told me that yesterday.  I ordered my records from the Navy Hospital (Overseas Okinawa) to confirm all of the information so I would have documentation to submit.  Thanks I will go the presumptive route.  I have seen several topics on here where people have done the presumptive route.

    Thank you

I saw someone posted that they were awarded 30% for scarring from multiple surgeries. Do you have to claim them specifically or will they note that in the C&P exam and automatically give it to you? I have had two stomach surgeries and two back surgeries all in the same areas.

All, I took your advice and went ahead and faxed my award letter over to DFAS this weekend. Cant afford to wait on the VA to get off their butts. I thought I would call DFAS in a few days to make sure someone did get my award letter. Still betting it takes them two months or more. But I am learning if you don't push someone to do their jobs it doesn't get done. Thank you to Jumpmaster for giving me the DFAS fax number.

Hello all, this is probably in the wrong forum, wasn't sure where to put it, but thought I would let you know what happened in the hopes, others will read this and not make the same mistake I did. Two months ago I was awarded 90% and am so thrilled. Even received my official letter making it official. I was told it would go to DFAS for an audit since I am a retiree so I naively assumed that the VA do their job and send the letter etc... to DFAS so they could process the audit. I left them alone for two months because that's what I was told it normally takes.

I called DFAS today (Overseas so I had to call middle of the night) and the lady was very nice but said they don't have any record of it, and that the VA never sent the letter. I was kindof in shock... cant believe they screw up everything. So I then tried to call the VA 800 number. An hour plus wait, only to be told they will look into it... Didn't get anywhere with them... Now I have to wait another two months or more after they finally send the info to DFAS...

My advice after you get your award (for retirees) percentage is to call the VA and hound them on a daily basis until they submit their paperwork to DFAS and then do the same to DFAS.

Frustrated as hell with the Boobs at the VA

All, I don't post often, but I have been reading and following almost daily so I can learn from everyone's experiences. I live in Okinawa and submitted my claim 15 months ago. Had my C&P's about two months ago. I had to use VES contracted Dr's, and the experience was troublesome. Anyway somehow my exams got lost between VES/Okinawa/VA so in frustration I emailed Allison about two weeks ago. Within two days I had two different RO Directors contacting me and then magically yesterday E Benefits changes to Pending Decision, then magically today E-benefits show up with my final rating. It is sad that the only way to get some action is emailing the top of the food chain but it did work. I wouldn't have emailed her if I hadn't really thought they lost my records. Anyway mine is a great success story as they awarded me 90%. Not sure what to do next but will start learning some more from this website. will have to wait for the BBE to see everything in writing.

    Sleep Apnea - 50%
    DDD from two back surgeries/fusion - 40%
Left Lower extremity radialculopothy - 40%
    RBB w hypertensive cardiomyopathy - 30%
Right Lower extremity radialculopothy - 0%
    Anemia - 10%
Thigh Impairment due to broken hip in two places - 10%
Hiatal Hernia with GERD (two stomach surgeries - 0%
ED - 0% But is SMC coded.

I came up with 89%. Only thing I don't really understand or think I want to disagree with is the radialculopothy in Right lower leg as the same issues I have in left I have in right and its documented. Not sure how they missed that one. And the GERD. I still have issues with reflux etc... probably going to have to go through the testing again to get it increased.
