diabetes Dml Restricted Activities
chiefhouse00 replied to chiefhouse00's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Greetings Just a quick follow up on my Diabetes One (DM1) status. I'm still shooting an average 85-95 units on insulin today plus 1000 mg Metformin twice daily. So, I'm not making the greatest progress in reducing the amount of my dosage. My NOD for DM is still in the DRO review pod since June 2015. Best Regards Chiefhouse -
Greetings I had a setback a few days ago with my Diabetes...sugar drop to 46. It was a struggle this time but I recovered. In regards to my Remanded and NOD claims, I'm just going to wait for awhile. I will restart my engines in a few weeks if no process is made...I'm just tired right now. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings At this point, would it be worth it to drop my VSO (DAV) or call them for a status update on their review of my Remanded Claim Package (six items). This is a painful wait game that really hurts especially when we charged ahead without a moment notice to do our jobs. Thanks for the advice and your experiences with the VA. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings I have six remanded claim issues (DOCKET NO 11-12-911) pending BVA rating decision. I checked the status today (via email) and got the following answer: "Your appeal was received at the Board on November 18, 2015. The claims file was sent to your representative Disabled American Veterans on November 27, 2015 for review and submission of additional arguments on your behalf. When the review is completed, the case will be returned to the Board for consideration. The Board, as required by law, will consider the appeal according to its place on the docket. You may contact your representative directly. For your convenience I have provided contact information for you." Is this a normal BVA process? I plan to call DAV Appeals in DC tomorrow to find out what is going on. Any advice. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings Sometimes I feel good about the fact that the VA is actively working my six remanded claims and one NOD but not today. I'm very worried that my claims are just setting in a dark corner collecting dust. I guess some of you feel this way at times. I plan to whole on and claim victory at the end of the race. Best Regards Chiefhouse00

Greetings I may not be the best person to answer your questions but I recently filed an NOD for a claim that was not reviewed/addressed by the BVA. All five of my contentions submitted to the BVA via a traveling board were remanded back to the Regional VA Office for further development. The one claim for DMII that was denied by the RO and not reviewed by the BVA because they considered that decision final. Well I submitted an NOD and awaiting the results. No telling when my remanded claims will be finished either. I certainly hope things work out for you. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings That was an awesome win for people with HCV. I was rated 20% for HCV in 2004 and failed three treatment sessions. Now, the VA want me to try a new round of treatment for this deadly disease. Each time I was told it was the best drug available but I got sick each time. So, I'm very reluctant to try any new treatment for HCV. My last virus load was 3.5 million. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings I just received my BVA Decision Package on Friday 5 Jun 2015. DOCKET N0 11-12-911: Six of eight claims were REMANDED back to the Agency of Original Jurisdiction for further development…two claims were closed with no action taken. One of those two claims was for an increase in DMll for regulation of activities and episodes of ketoacidosis or hypoglycemic reactions requiring one or two hospitalizations. The RO denied the DMll claim increase even though the C&P exam (Nov 2014) he ordered check marked the box restricted activities; Tripler Medical Hospital Emergency Center Doctor on Duty annotated "restricted activities" in the release report, and my VA Provider for eight years wrote in her Notes, must comply with “restricted activities, yet the RO found a way to deny the DMll increase in Feb 2015. Everything is well documented. So, I’m confused with the events that have occurred that is preventing me trying to get fairness from the VA. What should I do next? Best Regards Chief House

Oh, I never received a transcript from my traveling BVA Board conducted in Sept 2014. Best Regards Chiefhouse

Greetings I'm still in stand-by mode at level 4, with the VLJ, but the date change from 1 Jan 2015 to 3 Apr 2015. I don't know what that date change means. I hope it means that the VLJ will be making a finally review of my eight contentions before signing and dispatching the decision. I'm hoping for the best and will let everybody know the results. Best Regards Chiefhouse
