Question
Speaking Out
First, Should C&P exams be in your C-file? I called the 800# and was told that I would have to request my C&P exams seperate and would have to do so from the hospital. He said that it was for privacy issues. Is that correct?
I called the hospital and was told that the C&P's should be in my C file by the C&P department. They transfered me to release of info and the guy there said the C&P's should be in my C-file. He said send him a request and he will send them to me, but the catch is that one of them is no longer in their system. It only goes back to 1998 and that I would have to try and get that one from the RO. Also, since part of my C&P exams are from mental health for PTSD (MST) that a doctor from the mental health department would have to sign off that it is okay to release my records to me. Does this sound like it is the way it is supposed to happen. Also, my C-file is incomplete. It only has the negative things in it from my active time. All the memo's retracting the negative stuff are not in there. Also, none of my awards are there either. What do you think?
