Abnormal Study

Hello,

I guess I have been thinking too much about my appeal to a recent NOD/SOC. I have an independent medical evaluation from a private physician which constitutes new and material evidence.

The bottom of the reports reads as follows:

CONCLUSION

"This is an abnormal study with the following findings:" blah...blah...blah

1. I understand the findings; they are not part of my questions.

2. What does "abnormal study" mean? Does it mean that the study was incomplete or tainted in some way? Or...

3. Does it mean that the evaluation shows abnormalities in the part of my body they examined (heart)?

The conclusion went on to say I had HVL, etc.

Here's hoping it means number three as I already knew my heart was impaired. ;)

I agree with Ricky, Abnormal in this case means yes you have something wrong. Which I assume is good because you seemed to indicate prior to the study that you knew there was something wrong already and this will just confirm what you have been trying to get the VA to recognize.

Hopefully the new doctor will also be able to improve your treatment and preserve the function you have with a bit better comfort level.

Is that a typo for LVH?

Abnormal showed up in my deceased husband's med recs-

it looks here- that first they say abnormal due to B 12

intestinal stuff-

bu-if I were you I would google those medical terms- and see what they mean-

the word "arnormal" on an EKG of my husband was one of many red flags I found to prove the VA caused his death.

And the VA is supposed to follow up on abnormal results.

It is hard to understand exactly what they mean here and no sense in worrying until you can find out what they really mean.

Is you private doctor a cardiologist?

Thanks to all for your replies--I have the information now for which I was searching. I just didn't want any surprises from the VA when they got around to looking at my new evidence.
