You know when I owed the IRS money I had to pay 6 % intrest. Yet when the Goverment owes us money tough luck. Jim Delay, Delay, Delay another thousand Vets will die today. kpriessman
Jim MAC, As a federal finance officer, I believe they are required to pay you interest if they don't pay within 30 days, same as all federal agencies. So I guess they did not make the deadline agagin. You know when I owed the IRS money I had to pay 6 % intrest. Yet when the Goverment owes us money tough luck. HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted May 12, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted May 12, 2008 The VA pays no interest on claims it mismanages.I am not calling you out I know that you are talking about money they tell you they owe and than don't pay for 30 days. Maybe a good FOIA Question how much Interest has VA paid to claimants in last 10 years. Veterans deserve real choice for their health care. Berta
VA never pays interest on service connection awards. If they had to pay interest on retro compensation- that would be quite an incentive for them to remove their digits from their rectums and get claims resolved faster. And with the backlog statistics-they would go bankrupt if we could expect interest included with our retro. GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University ! When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we." Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
