Gall Bladder

Can someone tell me from their experience what a

bad gall bladder attack feels like.

I think I've been having this problem.

You probably need a CT scan to find out because many things mimic gall bladder like ulcers or diverticulitus. You sure as heck don't want it to rupture if the gall bladder or diverticuli is badly infected. If it is really hurting it is an emergency. My wife had sharp pain in her gut and they first thought it was gall bladder but did a CT scan and it was diverticulitus. If you have persistent pain get to the doctor and don't let them put you off. If my wife had waited a few more days it would have ruptured and then it is a big deal.

Well, several years ago, on a flat back x-ray 13 gall stones were seen.

When I think back over the years what it felt like.

I had persistent pains in my back. I would call my sister in a panic, for I knew that I was having a heart attack.

I would sit up in the bed and have my husband beat on it to try to burp or get over it.

When all else failed, I would take a Valium and go to bed.

Never realized just how much I had my head in the toilet as I felt so nauseated for no reason.

I had my gallbladder taken out many years ago. Prior to that just about everything I ate made me nauseous and I had severe stomach cramps. This went on for weeks and weeks...finally had an X-ray & CT scan and they found lots of stones.

I had mine out with the out-pt scope surgery....piece of cake. (Done in a civilian hospital, while I still had real medical insurance!) I was up and about in a few days without any problems and have been problem-free as far as being able to eat whatever I want since then.

Carlie, I was getting a sharp pain @ mid torso, left side. I had a cat-scan and it came up negative. Now the pain is still there but not as pronounced as it was. They thought it may have been a gall stone. Now I am wondering if it an ulcer or diverticulitus. Next time I go in for my physical I will bring it to there attention. Maybe they will have to do an upper gi, or something. I am wondering if they will give me copies of my cat scan. Maybe take them to a private physician.
