Sure is obvious to me when person claims to be a vietnam vet and age doesn't match. Now, wide variety of ages with Iraq, NG, reserve and active duty.

Buffalo soldiers have continued respectfully over the years - WWII vets are going fast.

For my children, my God sent husband and my Hadit family of veterans, I carry on.

God Bless A m e r i c a, Her Veterans and their Families!

Thanks Larry--appreciate the clarification. Hey, I'm going to try to find that movie with Kevin Bacon tonight if they have it. My hometown is so small that we're still getting first runs on John Wayne. B)

John999,

That was a good one. Skating was a time honor tradition over there which I participated in when ever possible. Got to go to Nha Trang for a couple of days and got into so much trouble that they never let me go back. More power to you John999. Next time you bump into one of those fake vets tell them you were involved in classified skating operations across the border and watch them try to sort that on out. <_<

SGM--I've known you for years and I have yet to hear ya tell a good joke. Do they have a course on bad jokes at the SGM academy, or do you come by that naturally? :o :P B)

Larry on the other hand should be on TV along with his dog code name whiskers, whispers, whoosers whatever--poor dog--poor fella has to listen to Larry all day long. B)

Heard plenty of good jokes from Brother and Sister Vet. Just can't remeber them. I wouldn't trade the BS time in RVN with Brothers and sisters for anything. We had a lot laughter at times, but it was replace by the reality of war on a moments notices.

Just remember the fakes, are fakes, and most of all they know it, and live with it

Well...as we used to say...."it don't mean nothin'". Personally, I'm glad they "wannabe", but I hate that they "pretendtobe".

I wonder if I would have all the medical conditions that I have now if I had never joined the Army. I'm pretty sure the answer would probably be no. When I look around and see others my age who were not in the service, most of them look pretty healthy.

Do you think all the employees of the VA really understand that it is ONLY because we served that their positions even exist?

These are all very interesting reads, and both serious and funny. Several years ago, a young men was bragging how he was a one man fighten unit during the Tet offensive in 1968. I ask him his age (really didn't need to) and he told me. I just shook my head, didn't know whether to laugh or punch him. He would have been 3 years old in 1968 <_< . What's so ironic about this is that this guy actuaklly murdered two people and was put on death row. Of course here in Texas, he got zapped.

The Tet of 68, was such a emotional event. I was 18, a sergeant, it scared me for life I am now realizing. The younger generation listens to the passion of Vet from Tet, can feel that he was there.

I don't talk much, but listen a lot. When I go to VFW, set by myself, and listen to the stories, it doesn't take long to know who was there, and who was not. I have ran across plenty that was there.

Bless their soles for the memopries that they store.
