Question

After recently filing a VA Prostate cancer disability claim, I have been doing alot of surfing for info. I found this site and hope to tap into some of the knowlege here to help me be successful with my claim.

Currently live in Arizona

Vietnam Vet - 1970-1971 - Phu Bai, Camp Eagle, Quang Tri areas for a few. Combat Engineers!

Which is the best area for me to ask questions concerning the Claims process and what to expect from my exam. I already have an exam date. I have to travel to Tucson on Sept 2nd.

Boro, Welcome to hadit. Post in the claims research section. How long have you been affiliated with the VA and granted disability? Trying to find out what you have done already, and what you need further assistance with. I don't want to start advising or offerring suggestions what to do if you have already done that. You will find a genuine brotherhood/sisterhood here. We all have the same goal here; quality of life, mutual respect, genuine casre for eachothers wellfare, and reaching our maximal potential/goal with our claims development, processes, and achievement of what is fair and just! Looking forward to finding out more about your quest and past VA experiences. :D

Boro, I moved your topic to the correct place to better enable the view and allow you to get more responses.

J

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

Since you are an incountry Vietnam Vet-you certainly should expect an award as prostate cancer is on the AO presumptive list.

VA rates prostate cancer as to residuals. I am posting a CUE claim separately regarding prostate cancer which might help you-

the regs are within that decision as to how they will rate this.

Did you ever claim this in the past and were denied by the VA?

You are a Nehmer Class Action veteran-this is why I asked- many Nehmer vets have successfully obtained retro on past final denials due to the Nehmer Court Order.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

Hi and Welcome..

I do have a little advice.

1. Show up for C and P on time, and tell your doc about your WORST days..not your best days. If you got sick and puked on Friday, but felt ok on Monday, tell him about Friday!

2. Get a copy of your C and P exam ASAP, and also get a copy of your C file.

3. Look up the schedule of rating disabilities for your condition, also read CFR 38. A little extra work now will pay you rewards later. Do your homework! Getting VA benefits is a long drawn out frustrating experience and usually involves multiple appeals.
