11 Series Mos Question

an 11 Series MOS can help substantiate being a combat vet.

Carlie, I don't know anything about "CAB's," as they are usually in big cities and I have a van & live in the country. ;-) As for "CIB's", I suppose they could try. They may need witness statements. As for the CAR, here's a link that should explain it all: http://armyawards.com/car.shtml

If a soldier was not awarded a CAB, can they too apply for an upgrade

and if the Army confirm's his exposure issue one ?

The CAB is what soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan get for being shot at who are not in the infantry. It is combat action badge. This badge did not exist during Vietnam. Just about every soldier in Vietnam would have qualified for this since all bases came under some kind of attack at some point.
