Remember,

You can get the insurance anytime that you

have received SC for an original claim or have gotten

an additional disability SC'd.

You have two years from the date of the Rating Decision

to get the insurance.

You must be in good health, except for your service-connected disability(ies).

well sc'd on mental health,but not on copd and hep.c so i do not think i would qualify.

I would venture that I should qualify as my SC'ed conditions are 100% Bipolar and 0% HTN (SC'ed last month). I don't have anything else that would disqualify me, unless they look at my getting dentures as a medical problem. Well then again, I have a strained knee. I applied for the insurance last Wednesday, and will let everyone know the outcome.

It is easy to get the waiver of premiums if you are IU or 100%. The insurance dept in not like the VBA concerning disability ratings. They are fast. I got the insurance and premium waiver in a few months from beginning to end. Ten grand is really chump change for a life insurance policy. If you are forty years old and have dependents you should probably be able to buy half a million. It is supposed to replace your income and not just bury you. Term life insurance is really income replacement insurance. That is what it is supposed to be.
