stillhere
While I think we all can agree this is way over due. I personally wonder if this will actually do any good or has already been implemented?? I called the 800# the other day and seemed worse to me. Any how here is an article that says it will get better! http://fcw.com/Articles/2010/09/22/VA-improving-call-centers-website-in-customer-service-effort.aspx
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted September 29, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted September 29, 2010 No, I don't believe it will get better. Lying at the VA is just a national custom.
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted September 29, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted September 29, 2010 Might as well send the 800 calls to India in my opinion Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Notorious Kelly
I'd navigate thru the menus only to hear that they were too busy to take my call, try again later. I've had much better results using the IRIS system.
carlie
The 800 # can only provide extremely limited info, some of which may be incorrect. Their job is to get you off the line. I do not see this will change much. The entire system needs overhauled. Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.
hulamatt
I'd navigate thru the menus only to hear that they were too busy to take my call, try again later. I've had much better results using the IRIS system. dial the 1800 number, hit 1 then 1 then 0 gets you to a live operator, if they arent too busy....They always seem to give me pretty accurate info, haad one guy on the phone even speed up my claim because they hadnt done anything in 2 months...they just told me the other day they were get records from st louis archives, and waiting on them, i have them, but do not feel like making a copy of 100 plus pages and paying for them
