  • Can a 100 percent Disabled Veteran Work and Earn an Income?

    employment 2.jpeg

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading

C&p/rating Results

Question

I try calling the hotline number twice in the last 2weeks and the recorded message saids they can not access my record at this time. WTH.... My last c&p was in feb. and I been waiting 2 months of the results. Check my mail regualr and nothing. Everything was done QTC. Please do not tell me I need to go to VAMC or the VARO because I'm overseas and we do not have one. I mean my claim number is my social right? It's getting frustrating because I'm getting in a deep end with my financial crisis. My VFW rep told me he will do system and that was last month. I try contacing him several times and no reply back. Oh yeh ebenifits. well I need a premiuim account to check status, but sonce I do not have a VARO. I'm screwed out of that one.

This link indicates Foreign Claims are handled by the Pittsburg VARO.

http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/foreign/claims.htm

It also has this contact info:

VA Regional Office

Foreign Claims

1000 Liberty Avenue

Pittsburgh, PA 15222-4004

Telefax: 412-395-6057

Internet Contact:   Select (Benefits Issues Outside the U.S.) / Any other country

On the internet contact-they mean the VA IRIS System.

The link will take you to IRIS and you need to fill out the form and then click on above link when it asks in pull down menu on line a question to determine the origin of the claim.

I suggest you ask for email or snail mail response and not phone call in order to ave hard copy of wat they say.It might take a few days for them to email you a link and you need to click on the link to access the response.

I might have a few more Pittsburg contacts and will post them here.

this is more frustrating then i expected

Well I called the VA and they actually have an appeal from which I did back in 2009 I believe. This was for the PTSD and the tinnitus because I never had an exam done and the only claim they have in the record is the scar on my arm which I claim for in 2010

Now my question is will everything get reevaluated since I did my PTSD and tinnitus exam this year feb 2011. I don't think none of my exams have been submitted yet by the QTC examiners to the VA because the appeal is still there and the muscle scar tissue is still pending..

Please let me know your thoughts...

Thank you

    • Choosing a VA Disability Attorney Means Learning What Questions to Ask
Choosing a VA Disability Attorney Means Learning What Questions to Ask. Chris Attig - Veterans Law Blog

<br style="color:#000000; text-align:start">How to Hire an Attorney For Your VA Claim or Appeal Free Guidebook available on the Veterans Law Blog

I got an email the other day from a Veteran.  It had 2 or 3 sentences about his claim, and then closed at the end: “Please call me. So-and-so told me you were the best and I want your help.”

While I appreciate the compliments, I shudder a little at emails like this.  For 2 reasons.

First, I get a lot of emails like this.  And while I diligently represent my clients – I often tell them we will pursue their claim until we have no more appeals or until we win – I am most assuredly not the best.

There are a LOT of damn good VA Disability attorneys out there.  (Most, if not all, of the best are members of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates…read about one of them, here)

Second, I don’t want Veterans to choose their attorney based on who their friend thought was the best.  I want Veterans to choose the VA Disability attorney who is BEST for their case.

In some situations, that may be the Attig Law Firm.

But it may also be be Hill and Ponton, or Chisholm-Kilpatrick, or Bergman Moore.  Or any one of the dozens of other attorneys who have made the representation of Veterans their professional life’s work.

There are hundreds of attorneys that are out there representing Veterans, and I’m here to tell you that who is best for your friend’s case may not be the best for your case.

How do you Find the Best VA Disability Attorney for your Claim?

First, you have to answer the question: do you NEED an attorney?

      Some of you don’t...
