Additional Medical Info

Rate this question

COOL BREEZE

Question

Is there a link for the form to send to the VA claims for additional medical information. I'm tired of running back and forth to the DAV with the nasty attitude for him to send in this in. They send in a cover sheet attached to the statement in support of claim. By sending this information in by myself will it be slower reaching the correct dept at the VA or should I still go to the DAV. As my claim is at the rating board/NOD, I am sending in private doctors info that I'm now getting to hopefully help these claims. Thanks

Just go to the VA website get a copy of a 21-4138 and put on additional evidence for whatever conditon and then submit it to the VARO direct. Copy to DAV if you want for them to know what you did. You can bypass the DAV if you want.

CB,

If your claim issues are actually being rated now by a decision maker

every-time you send something additional in, your stretching out a decision

to a longer date.

Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.

The claim has been with the rating dept since last November. It isn't being worked on, probably not for quite some time. A few folks here and the DAV recommended to go ahead and send this in as there is no way of knowing one way or another what they will. do. Having additional medical evidence that may help a current pending claim could prevent another appeal.

If the above is the case then I would fax my copies in.

Do I print out the 21-4138, fill it out and then fax everything together? Is there an updated fax list that I will be sure they receive for Phoenix-thank you.

You should send your evidence in ASAP, because the sooner you send it in, the more likely it will be associated with your file, before it gets rated. If the evidence is such that it needs to be returned to the VSR, due to new and material evidence, or just evidence that causes a need for an examination, then this will delay your claim, but in favor of you. Good luck, and it really doesn't matter whether you give it to your POA, or turn it in at the front desk. There is so much of a backlog, and so many rush cases, that a POA handing in your claim is not going to speed up your claim time, or change the amount of time the claim sits on the rating board.
