has anyone been prescribed Gebapentin 300MG caps @ 900MG 3 times a day for siatiac pain? Remember this drug was approved for seizures in people who have epilepsy. Everything I read states that only 1/3 of people who use it for pain get any relief. Side effects is it worth taking the chance? This was prescribed by a PA who I have little faith in....... Any opinions?

I take gabapentin for neuropathy and helps me with panic disorder. I am prescribed the same dose and I feel that it does what I need it for with few side affects.

The BA prescribes it a lot for neuropathy.

I took it (same dosage) for about 6 months. Packed on about 30 pounds and always felt tired. My neuro switched me to topiramate 200mgX3. I've lost the weight and it helps with my neuropathies tremendously.Topiramate is the generic for Topamax and is also prescribed for seizures.

For my PN I take Gebapentin, the VA first prescribed Ammatripelene and the word TRIP was factual. It took two days to wake up. Now with the Gebapentin I take it at bedtime and sometimes I wake up before noon. :) Better living through chemistry.
