Loss Of Reproductive Organ

Question

I was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer in 2004. So how I wasn't notified that the VA would cover this condition and because m wife and I thought it prudent I had my prostate removed and very luckily was able to make it through the 5 years with a PSA of 0.00. In 2009 I developed diabetes and did contact the VA, and am currently at 80% disability. So here is my question. I submitted a claim for "loss of reproductive organ" for loss of my prostrate. I also have a stipend for ED. Do any of you now anything about this, will the VA honer this, or is this just reaching too far.

Sounds like you have SMC "K" Award already. As far as I know that's all you would get for that & Guess you are getting residuals of Prostate Cancer at some low ball percentage also.

Of course you are boots on the ground, You should get 100% for PC and SMC for loss of creative organ and something for ED and good luck on that, but they can not paid you a million dollars for the loss of ED.VA does not have SEX until they having it with you. You and your wife can only hope that can get P&T!!!!

Do you have any other problem's like DMII, IHD, or PN , Depression, and all the problems with PC.

Lets talk more it's late here!

Call your state VA or look at your SC award letter. The letter should specify exactly what percentage you get for what disability. If you're a "Nam vet with type 2 diabetes you should get an award depending on how bad the diabetes is and what you take for it. If you lost the prostate, you should also be smc for loss of creative organ. You also should be entitled to viagra for the loss.

I was reviewing the 38 CFR 4 Schedule for Rating Disabilities and I found that the loss of reproductive organs list the prostrate gland. I was rated at 0% for prostrate canser simply becuse I had radicle prostrate surgery at the City of Hope (at my expence). I did not know the VA cover that, and probley would not let them operate on me anyway. So, I'm asking does anyone think thisclaim has a chance for a monatary rating or am I just chasing smoke.

My radical prostate removal was done by a private doc. I then filed a VA claim which was granted. I'm asuming you were boots on the ground Vietnam. You should get rated for the residuals after surgery ie incontinence, impotence etc. You also are entitled to smc loss of organ. I believe that's an additional $99.00 or so on top of what ever percent you get for the prostate surgery. Don't delay, find a vet rep and file a claim ASAP. Claims are slow and you'll get back pay. Check eith your county government for a vets assistant or contact VFW, American legion etc.

You'll also be entitled to any medical needs as a result of surgery like pads, meds like Viagra etc. Good luck.
