How long dose it take after the award letter comes before you receve your back pay and the fact that I am DFAS retieree make a dif (medical all combat releated)

Well, we dont know. But I do know some Vets have their money deposited AND then they get the award letter. So keep checking your bank.

Oh, and yes, being a government retiree can make a difference. They could "audit" the retirement vs disability compensation and that could take a while.

If you are talking a Regional Office Award letter, and you dont run into complications about your retirement, well yes you could see your money before 60 days, and maybe way before that. As I said, some get the deposit and then get the award letter.

If the VA audits you about this retirement..then all bets are off.
