OK guys, thanks for the input. After sending 2 emails, the problem was corrected on their end AND (drum roll please!), I received a phone call from them to make sure all was well. Miracles will never cease! Case closed.

I use secure email via Myhealthyvet and that works pretty good. This is to talk to your doctor mostly. I do think person to person is best. If you can keep your anger under control there is always some clerk who can fix anything if they want to do it.

When I had trouble with my account, I emailed the MyHeatheVet rep who emailed back pretty quickly and asked for a phone call to help work the problem over the phone. The rep worked pretty hard within the VISN and with the main trouble desk. This effort was not overly helpful, especially at first. There was some hope that one of the many system upgrades would fix the problem on its own without direct intervention. At some point, there is an 800 nbr for the MyHeatheVet national help desk.

You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

I am amazed but happy to hear that.

It seems like it depends on the VAMC and how much they feel beaten down. Four of the six hospital employees I spoke with for an appointment this spring complained to me about their jobs, including the specialist.
