Question

Greetings

I'm sure this question has been ask before. How long will it take to receive retro pay? Some say 3 months or more. My claim (80 to 90% effective 2008) was approved 5 Oct 2013 and DFAS audit completed 17 Nov 2013. Thanks

Best Regards

Congratulations on your win!! I would have figured you'd already received it since DFAS already did their part. How did you find out the date of the DFAS audit?

Greetings

First I called DFAS and was told the Audit was completed and batch file sent to the VA. Then I called the VA 1-800 number and was told it could take up to 90 days or more to receive the retro pay. Maybe it will come soon.

Best Regards

I wouldn't take what Peggy says with a grain of salt. They seem to go by a script of some sort. Maybe you should call your RO and see what the hold up is. Hopefully you get it this week or before Christmas!

Obviously your situation is much different from mine, but I've been waiting for my retro pay for dependents for 2 years...and according to the IRIS response team, they'll get to it "as soon as we can," from the Denver RO.

Sgt,

Everyone has the Dependents issue. I was medically retired in Feb 13 and the VA and Navy knew I was married, and my 2 kids were born on Base and it still took 9 months for mine to kick in. It usually takes 3 to 4 months to get Retro on average. It sucks to wait, but atleast it is your money and once piled up, it aint a bad sum of money usually.
