Warone
Hi, my second post on this site. I'm wondering about tinnitus. I've told my military doctor about the ringing and he noted it on my medical paperwork, but do I have to be officially tested before I can successfully claim it and win? It has all of the services MOS 's on and the probability of HL for each MOS. mariorivera830
I am rated at either 10 percent for tinnitus and have been since I got out in 2003. All I did was tell them about the ringing in my left ear (oef/oif radio operator) and I took a hearing test, a regular one as far as I know. And was awarded my rating fairly quickly. I think I'm maxed out for that rating, I heard it only goes up to whatever I'm at. At least that is what I told. So good luck with your claim. I do have significant hearing loss in my one ear though. That was evident from my hearing test . Edited December 30, 2013 by mariorivera830

K9MAL
recently, I've reviewed some claims that the veteran was denied tinnitus because there was no hearing loss. The VA states that the cause of tinnitus is hearing loss. I'm not sure, but I have started reviewing cases at the BVA concerning this issue.. I just took my C&P audio test with a private doc today. I discussed this with her due to the fact that my hearing is OK with the exception of the very high end but I have ringing in my ears. She said many people can have OK hearing and still have tinnitus. If it's denied I'll fight them on it.
