Travel Pay Question......

Question

I've got a pretty basic question about travel pay. 1. I'm 70% SC 2. I'm being treated for non-SC prostate cancer. 3. 5X a week radiation treatments. I've never gotten travel pay except for C&P exams but this daily 12 mile one way drive is burning a bit of gas. Would I qualify for travel pay for these treatments?

I used to get travel pay, but it just was not worth it. Like you, its about 10 miles to the VA, and I have to wait through a line each time to get paid. I would wait 20 to 30 minutes for $1.80 or very close. This amounts to about $3.60 per hour. It used to be around $6.80 , but now its about 2.00. Its just one of the ways Vets have been raked over the coals in the past few years.

If the VA transports you, then you wont get it.

If you have multiple trips, in one month, you can submit them on the travel forms, once a month, by mail. No waiting in line. jmo

No, they make direct deposits these days and I generally receive my payment within 10-14 days.

Not in Las Vegas. Still old school and I receive 2 envelopes a week for my physical therapy trips.
