0 meghp0405
there isn't nothing to wait on for the CRDP. Effective 1-1-2014 if your a retired veteran with disability 50% or above, you should be receiving both, again effective 1-1-2014. That was the law, not when they get around to it. I'd be screaming to DFAS...
0 Loose Cannon
Hollis- Screaming doesn't help. If it's combat related...Your son should to apply to his branch of service for CRSC. CRSC is TAX FREE while CRDP is taxable. CRSC - combat related special compensation. CRDP - concurrent receipt disability payment. It was beneficial in my case to apply for CRSC since 80% of my overall disability was found by my branch of service to be actually "combat related." That said, there needs to be a distinction made. The VA still owes me $$ as confirmed by DFAS. Been waiting since October 2012 but hope to get retro paid soon. Best of luck to your son. Please thank him VERY much for his service. I'll keep him & your family in my prayers. LC Edited January 17, 2014 by Loose Cannon
0 Proudvet
I checked my checking account today, after reviewing my retirement (LES) Leave and Earning Statement and was surprised to have a deposit of $1700.00 for my CRSC 80% disability and retirement combined. I guess it's true that they will pay both reirement and disability from here on out. All I can say, it's long over-due. Proudvet

0 Hollis
thanks for the replies, but my son has not been med retired yet, He is going thru a school called TAPS what ever that is. Anyway I was just asking a question for me, not him as of yet. I think once he knows for sure he is being Med retired he will start his VA claim.
