Co Pay To Va

Question

Hi, I am in the process of my claim and VA is making me pay for all my treatment right now because it has been over 5 years since I got out. Also, just because I make little over $33000 per year I do not qualify for any kind of fiancial help from them. Is there any way I do not have to pay those co payment and they can just take that money out when my calim gets settle down the road.

Thank you so much

If you get a 50% or more rating you don't have to pay any co-pays. Although, I'm not real sure about that. I know I am now at 50% and I am currently being treated for non SC'd condition and they have not asked for a copay. Also, whatever you pay them now for co-pays and you get SC'd for that condition they will refund the money to you. If you have private medical coverage the VA will bill them and you may not have to pay a copay.

If you are seeking treatment for SC conditions and live far enough out, you might also be able to get travel pay. In my experience, they don't like to go back very far to pay travel co-pays.
