Who told you the police would deny you a job due to VA disability claim? Your VA records are private. As long as you can pass police physical you should be OK. Talk to your police union about this. I think that is discrimination. Many policemen have PTSD, but are getting treatment. My private shrink treats and evaluates policemen who have been in shootings etc. He says most should not even be carrying a weapon, and not because of PTSD, but because of their quirks and racial attitudes. That is not reflecting on you. I live in Tampa, Florida. Here they shoot the mentally ill. In Florida they execute the mentally ill and retarded.

Hey PM me and we can discuss the particulars I offer this as I went through the same issue. I would offer what I went through

I had some questions on some of your claim issue. I can tell you that any mental health issue depending on where u work or live geographic wise (In the south unions are toothless, Northern areas u have better chance of keeping you your job) . With that in Mind would have to have details and tell you in PM. It will be a fight. I hope you win...

Im a fed cop and Ive seen guys have there.gun taken away over va ptsd....

Just depends on the percentage awarded. My buddy is 70% ptsd and hes still.a fed cop.

Another guy wasnt even rated for ptsd but his army records said he had severe ptsd and the fed job somehow got a hold of it. Poor guy had his gun taken away and was nearly fired plus everyone calling him crazy. Took six months for the va to send a letter saying hes not currently rated for ptsd to fed job and they gave him his gun back a week ago.

I dont know how it affects state leos
