Question

I am 100% for PTSD and 30% Sinusitus and 10% Hearing currently 100% T&P.

Wondering wheather or not I must quit my job? I called Human Resources and was told I do NOT have to. All the Employer needs to know is that I am 30% or more.

Do I risk being re-evaluated for PTSD if I continue to work?

My Employer has been very kind and allowed me to make my own schedule and work alone completely so it is easier to take it. But, I would really like to retire from the stress and politics of work after 50 years I am totally fed up with the whole working thing anyway.

Yes, I will get a Pension of $761 which is almost enough to cover Healthcare for my Wife with the current provider. With Social Security and my VA we can make ends meet nicely as everthing but the House is paid off. The only reason to continue to work is to build up a little savings before I retire.

Barba and NavyWife gave great advice bud. You are sick, worked your butt off in life, and you are smart enough to have no Debt except your house. Just retire bud, and enjoy what years you have with the wife and family. Even though I have been very sick, and hard to except retirement at 32, I have spent more time with my wonderful family in the last year, then I had in the previous ten. I had 2 procedures on Wed. and my wife and girls were there all the way. Next week I a going to have 4'' of my Rectum removed and my wife requested time off from part time job, to take care of me, and my girls said they will take care of me, Lol, they are 8 and 6 years of age. You have given this world enough, please take a little for your self. God Bless and good luck either way.

Another option is FMLA leave from your job and looking into your jobs long term dissability insurance. I am not working now due to my PTSD and found out I have over 4 months of sick time and long term disability insurance after that.

How old are you if I may ask? If you are old enough to get SSA I would quit before someone at the VA wises up and brings you in for a C&P exam with aim to reduce your 100% for PTSD. Have you read the description of what 100% scheduler means for a emotionally disabled vet? If you are working full time you just can't meet that description.

Guys with double amputations who are 100% can work no problem. Everyone admires them. Guys with 100% for PTSD can work and everyone at the VA thinks they are committing fraud. This is really the way it is.

I found out I can retire for 'Medical reasons' and recieve full retirement.

I have contacted Human Resources and will pursue this route. In addition I will file for Social Security Disability at the same time that I file regular Social Security as suggested by the good folke here.

The only question is how long will it take until I actually leave the job? I am asking for immediate retirement so as to expedite the process from the FERS system. Maybe 2 weeks to a month at most and then Hasty Bannaners to the work routine.
