1. Entitlement to individual unemployability is granted effective June 24, 2011. (Big question here is I applied for TDIU in April, 23 1013)

2. Basic elegibility to Dependents' Educational Assistance is established from June 24, 2011.

3. Evaluation of urethral stricture and bladder neck contracture/stricture with voiding dysfunction, which is currently 60 percent disabling, is continued.

4. Eval of DDD, L4-L5 and L5-S1 with IVDS, right lower extremity, which is currently 10% disabling, is increased to 40% effective Sept 23, 2013. (Didn't apply for this.)

5. Service connection (SC) for left knee meniscus tear with DJD is granted with an evaluation of 10% effective Sept 23, 2013.

6. Eval of s/p right hip injury with residual capsular strain, which is currently 10% is continued.

7. SC for right hip impairment is granted with an eval of 10% effective Sept 23, 2013. (I did not apply for this)

8. SC for right hip limitation of flexion is granted with an eval of 0% effective Sept 23, 2013 (I did not apply for this)

9. SC for chronic kidney disease Stage 1 is granted with an eval of 0% effective Sept 23, 2013 (I am at Stage 3 and I didn't apply for this, I was going to after this rating board).

10. Eval of vascular migraine headaches, which is currently 10 disabling, is continued.

11. SC for GERD with hiatal hernia and Barrett's esophagus/H-pylori (claimed as acid reflux due to Ibuprofin taken for pain) is denied. (I did not apply for Service Connection I applied GERD as Secondary condition to my back pain clearly stated on my paperwork).

Well there it is. I am concerned about my IU effective date it is going back farther then I think it should. Here is the VA wording: Entitlement to individual unemployability is granted.... (then lists all my SC conditions).... effective June 24, 2011, the date you met the schedular requirement while the claim has been continuously prosecuted.

I did apply for UI when I recieved my June 24, 2011 rating ( which was April 13, 2013) but I thought it was only to be back dated to the date you applied for UI. Confused here I hate paying back monies.

Lastly I do not know if I should file for the error of Service Connection vs Secondary Condition for my GERD; or the stage 1 Kidney vs the stage 3 kidney I didn't apply for the kidney diease I have no idea how it made it into this claim. I was going to file for this at a much later date.

I didn't see "no further scheduled appts" anywhere but it does say Eligiblilty to Dependents' Educational Assistance under 38 U.S.C chapter 35. I think that is the language needed for P&T.

Thanks all. In a few months I am going to start a information package together for anyone with bladder issues as this is my strongest knowlege base as it took 17 years to find a doctor to look into it. I am sure most people will not have the problems I did with the Military/VA/civ doctors. But I will have that infomation regardless.

I will say if you had a IED blast or severe accident and you are having problems voiding your bladder do not stop trying to get help. There is a very limited window for things to get fixed. I was told by over 8 doctors, 2 of them specialist, that it was a severe accident these problems happen just let things calm down.... Worst advice ever regarding the UI tract.

Have the best day that you can.

Dan

I've had to learn alot of it over the years, but nothing compared to the information of this community. I wish I could've found it earlier but then I would not have my experiences.

This place is truly a wealth of compassion and knowledge. I am blessed to have found it.

Congratulations. Sounds like you did a great job and submitted a thorough and detailed claims package.

If your dependents are eligible for chapter 35 educational benefits you are P & T. Did you also receive info in your BBE on Champva benefits (healthcare) for your dependents?

I do not recall what your rating was before this latest award but you are entitled to additional benefits as of the effective date you were rated at 50% or higher which I assume in your case will be June 24, 2011. No more copays for VA appointments or meds. You are entitled to reimbursement for all of your copays back to your effective date of award. Any of your family members entitled to Champva are entitled to reimbursement of copays (medical and meds) back to your effective date.

You are probably entitled to several additional state benefits depending on where you live. They would include reduced property taxes, free car tags, etc.

Good luck to you and your family.

DDuck,

Unfortunately I did not read your post carefully or I would have noticed that you were rated above 50% prior to this award so I am sure you have already requested reimbursement of your copays.

Again, congratulations and good luck to you and your family.
