You can appeal the decision and if you have good credit and pay your bills you should not be held as incompetent to manage your own money.

Supervised Direct Pay is one step below Fiduciary. Here's how the process worked for me

1. C and P examiner found me incompetent.

2. Received Servicce Connection but retro pay withheld pending examination of competence. Did get monthly compensation while waiting.

3. Field examination at my house scheduled with VA Field Examiner.

4. Field Examiner inspected home and my finances. She approved Supervised Direct Pay then instead of a Fiduciary.

5. Had to set up a monthly budget and a plan for what I'll do with retro.
