Stpn2me
One more update. Just checked ebennies. Claim is no longer listed. I click on "disability rating", it says 60%! WOW! Now I guess I just have to wait on back pay! I wonder how long? AEMedic and Andyman73

Stpn2me
Same to you guys. I looked into the "VA Letters" thingy and I requested a summation of my benefits. It lists my benefit payment at $1055 a month or something like that, but it says effective date at Dec 2014. Now on my disabilities link, it says effective date is Dec 2013. I hope they make sure to take this back to 2013 and not 2014! LOL...
Julie1975
Congrats! I retired the same date as you (Dec 2013) but received my rating in October 2014. My backpay was retroactive as of my retirement date. It took them about two months to pay out my backpay. I am over 50% and get two checks each month: retirement from DFAS and disability from VA. I was AD with over 20 years and over 50% rating. Here's a link from DFAS that explains concurrent receipt: http://www.dfas.mil/retiredmilitary/disability/crdp.html
