I thing i have seen several Vets awarded SSD or SSI in the past, , while rated 100%. Can that be done? or is there a dollar cap?

I called SS and as soon as I told them I was 100% they said I make to much money, plus I haven't paid in for over 5 years.

Yes, a 100% P&T disabled veteran receiving compensation may also be eligible for SSDI and SSA retirement (early 62) or normal retirement 65-66)

But the 5 year requirement is there to overcome. A benefit of filing for SSDI and early retirement at the same time is that SSDI is paid until the regular retirement age (65),

then changes to the SS retirement.
