This is what I got from VA 4 years ago and my pending disabilities. I already got test for tinnitus and got it in VA records just waiting on getting my Orthopedics shoes because I got flat feet that cause ankles.legs, hip, upper and lower back pain from when I was in the Army. The key is to get that to 30%bilateral. Also easy increase for GERDs from 10% to 30% just complain about it more often. Another 30% for Esophagus stricture for having a narrow throat secondary to GERDS. Also about 5 more 10% disabilities. So wish me luck.

So know my disabilities look like this current

Total Combined Disability

You have a 70% final degree of disability. This percentage determines the amount of benefit pay you will receive.

wablackwell I get seen by the VA only if you want a DBQ you need to put in a increase on ebenefits for PTSD and they will do it then. true story my friend is 30% also he start going down to VA mental health and started kicking chairs and yelling at mental health doctor and he started crying after and that was last week now he got a DBQ  this Thursday. But a key note is he told them he is Homeless they rush your claim faster.

I was just going to say TDIU but I see you applied for it. I understand that it is easier to get SSDI if you have a mental condition than it used to be. Also if fifty or older. I applied for SSDI on my fiftieth birthday and was awarded SSDI in about five months. They like to call a relative and confirm your story. Close relative. Dad got called for me.

I know what you saying they are sending me and my wife dumb questionnaire for SSDI that I have been filling out and having my wife feel out too. I think they are do that to see if the answer are different to disqualified me for SSDI.

SSDI varies in most states and most situations. Yes you and your spouse have to be on the same page with SSDI. That's a standard questionnaire that social security uses just to gather information. From my experience with it, SS is going to send you to an exam with one of their doctors for what ever contention that you have just to see if you are able to work. It would work in your favor to get a disability attorney to file for you. In most cases if you're not 50+, you get turned down or if you haven't worked in 2 or more years.

I applied for SSDI in Nevada in 2007, at age 46, after not working for six months, with the following diagnosed disabilities:

Bipolar Disorder (Mixed)

Lower Back Pain

Migraines

Bilateral foot pain

After two denials and appeals, in 2007, an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) approved my case on appeal, stating that I was approved because I was totally disabled for each disability individually, as well as collectively.

The ALJ had a job-placement expert at court, use their own lists of jobs that I could be  hire to do, but she found none.

The biggest differences between the SSDI and VA programs is that with the SSDI, you must be 100% disabled, but do not have to prove service connection.  With the VA you could be disabled for any given diagnosis at a partial percentage, but you must prove service connection, usually with clear service medical records, or most likely an Independent  Medical Opinion (IMO).

I had used my VA medical notes to prove the diagnoses to the SSDI.  I used the SSDI findings and doctors reports to support my claim for the VA, including my request for Individual Unemployability (IU).
