EODCMC
Opened an FDC for tinnitus and hearing loss today. 28 years of EOD, Boatswain's Mate, Engineman and deep sea diving with multiple ear squeezes should account for my messed up hearing...right? 0 EODCMC
The little hairs in my ears? You mean I'm not supposed to use my nose hair removal gizmo in my ears?
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted November 12, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 12, 2016 LOL you can if you wish...LOL Tiny Hairs in our ear canal not visible to the naked Eye...the tiny hairs viberate when a nose is heard and as we age or the ears are Damage from loud noise exposure then hearing loss occurs. I've always wonder if they can figure that out then why can't they figure out why we have Tinnitus. I don't trully understand how the hairs vibrate so we can hear? A good friend of my is a Retired Audiologist and Specialist in hearing loss and has research this for years and years. 0 Gastone
Disinfect the old Nose Tool before sticking it in your ears, strictly lay advice, think Cross Contamination. Doubt your ears would start Running, but always a possibility of an Ear Infection. Besides, even more important, you think your Lady would want to Kiss or do anything else to your ear after learning about your use the the Nose Tool? How about posting a Redacted copy of your Ear/Hearing DBQ & Award/Denial Letter. If you got or get shot down on the Tinnitus Claim, something you said or didn't say, is probably at fault. 0 EODCMC
Gastone, I'm using it in the same geographic location...not the nether region. Besides, what the wife don't know won't hurt her. Naw, only submitted a couple of days ago. I was just looking for some affirmation of what I submitted or advice on what I should before I close it out by requesting a quick conclusion. The "quick conclusion" part was also a feeble attempt at humor.
0 DDuck
Hey EODCMC, Class 9235 in Coronado then went EOD in 96. Tinnitus is presumptive for both our ratings. I submitted it with my TT6 medbay report I suffered in 93. Squeezes were not a big deal so you probably didn't have a med report for any of them but just stated it, it should be a no brainer for the noise exposures we were around. Also on a psychological level our otoconia were screwed with at depth I am sure. It's relatively new find so I am sure it won't help our generation much but "hears" hoping. My tinnitus sucks and 10% is a joke but it's all good I suppose. Nice to read another dual pin guy here, take it easy. Dan
0 EODCMC
Hooyah DDuck. Yea, I don't expect much more than 10% for both...if that. It seems to be a crap shoot with the VA. The only squeeze that was documented was during my stint at EDU. In fact all the training and operational demo is not detailed in my record. Only that it was a routine part of the job. Good luck and if I can provide any info for you, let me know.
