According to this website, VA lost documents electronically.

VA has mailed a development letter to claimants and private representatives (where there is one) affected by an "application defect" that occurred when uploading documents on both the VA's eBenefits and Stakeholder Enterprise Portal (SEP) sites.  The defect resulted in users being incorrectly informed that documents were successfully uploaded, when in fact the documents may have been rejected.  These errors occurred from August 1, 2015 through December 21, 2015.

If documents got lost from August, 2015 through Dec. 2015, is it possible they got lost at other times as well?????

I did the intent to file last year and uploaded documentation at that time. When I checked the status a few months ago, the VA said all the documents were deleted, but my intent to file was still in the system. I had to resubmit everything.

Ok, so the VA electronically lost documents August, 2015, through 2018, but only ADMIT to losing documents for a 3 month period beginning in August 2015.   Of course this is just one Vets experience, we all know that they lost many more documents.

The VA has been losing documents for the 35 years I have been dealing with them.  If it was not SMR's it was their own MR's.  I do not trust the VA to do the right thing all of the time.

In the late 90's, the VA admitted losing a C&P exam result. They brought me back a couple of weeks later to redo it. When I got my c-file, I found both copies in there. "Efficiency"
