Stressor verification

Rate this question

Joey Ross

Question

Which do they normally do first, C&P exam or stressor verification?   I've had a C&P, and now they are doing the stressor. This is a result of a DTA from a higher level review

Usually they need the stressor to justify the exam either by concession/presumption or on an 0781, or as part of your claim. Lately we’ve don it a bit different by doing the exam first because NPRC and JSRRC are open limited to none and that’s where the record research comes in.

If you have a  CIB or ribbon on your DD 214..They should concede the stressor or stressors.

If not then you will need to prove where the operation/event of trauma was with your lay statement, the approx  time and date within 10 days  and add your unit as they can go back and check this all out, add your company commander name and your  NCO in charge couple of buddies names if you can remember....check with them to write you a letter detailing the event as they were with you during that time  as you describe it ect,,ect,,,

If this is not on your DD 214..BUT IT SHOULD BE.

I am not an Attorney or VSO, any advice I provide is not to be construed as legal advice, therefore not to be held out for liable BUCK!!!

For the  first request 30. If you can't recall everything still put it on an  0781  because we can go look for it but we're have too know what stressor events you are claiming, or at least generally (fear for life, personal trauma, etc) so the JRRC and VSR knows what too look for and we knows what records too request from who and where.
