New Claim Info

Hi,

I called the 800# this morning and received so good news (well I think it's good). The man who answered the phone, quite fast I have to add(almost no hold time today), told me that my claim is still pending (which I knew), but it is in authorization at post or something similar. What does that mean?? Good I hope.

Authorization at Post determination team-

It could be good news -but it might mean nothing-

I assume a decision might well have been made-

Authorization used to be a magic word years ago but these days they authorize awards,as well as denials, and also transfers to the BVA-

As long as you sent them probative medical evidence they should have made a good award-

Lets hope!!!!!

I was in the post determination team over a year ago-

I got a letter asking me if I had remarried-

I wrote back-are you kidding!

Sometimes I think post determination is just a status check on all the info they already have-to see if dependents or anything else changed.

Here is what they actually do- better info that what I just wrote-a decision has been made on your claim- I just hope it is a good one!

I hope so. The waiting is the hardest part. I do know that if I get retro (which should) it will be over 25K, so maybe thats whats been taking so long. Hopefully.

I think I'm coming around the backstretch now.

On the flip side, it kinda seesm like my vet rep. knows something more than she is telling me. When I spoke to her this past Monday and we were going ahead with sending a claim for another secondary condition, plus all the extras I had posted before, just things lingering that we were waiting to do. In any case, when we spoke she said she would write up the letter along with get the correct forms etc together and fax them to me to go over before signing. She told me on she would have this to me within a few days because it was the end of the day when we spoke. I said ok and that I wouls be waiting to hear from her. It is Sunday night now and nothing has been sent from her yet. So now I refer back to my phone call to the 800# on Friday telling me that the file is now in the Authorization for Post determination. Gosh, I just feel like going nuts some days, but I sit waiting instead wondering if this is why she hasn't done anything yet. I do read into things way too much sometimes, so now I just have to sit back and wait for the VA.
