Does the Disabled Vet have to ASK for Special Monthly Compensation
FIRST...."THANK YOU" all for your service to this grateful nation! I am the wife of a Vietnam Vet, Navy. I "FINALLY" got him to apply for benefits, (Intent to file 8-26-16), and he is to see the VA doctor tomorrow, Chicago. (Ischemic Heart Disease). (METs 1-3) I have YEARS of private doctors records of when he had his heart attack 2004. He had to stop working in 2007. He had to wait one year, (NO INCOME) for one year until he could take early retirement. While I am doing all the research I can I am unsure as to 'how' or 'if' he/(me) is to ask for Special Monthly Compensation if, in fact, they deem his disability worthy. Please help me....help him…

SMC-L, S ??
I am 100% IU and 90% over all. Starting a new post as per Broncovet's recommendation. (1) First, my back rating just went up from 10% to 20%. This was due to thoracolumbar spine degeneration, disc bulging, partial compression fractures T4, 5,and 8. CFR 4.40, 4.45 and 4.59. This was just given June 1st 2017. I am now scheduled for T2 to L2 titanium boron rod fusion next week July 20th 2017. Kyphosis range 50 to 70 degrees. My question, what is available and how do i file for SMC....L,S...? (2) Second, from multiple previous arthroscopic surgeries on my knee I was given a 0% rating for scar. Is this a reconsideration claim of its own> Or to include when submitt…

ptsd Special Monthly Compensation, Please help
Good Evening Everyone! Okay I have a few questions regarding my Disability claim as well as my husband. First let me start off by listing all my service connected disabilities: 1.) PTSD-100% 2.) 60% Asthma 3.) 50% Migraines 4.) 50% Endometrosis with IBS 5.) 10% Eczema 6.) 10% Rt. Knee 7.) 10% Left Knee 8.) 0% scar left breast 9.) 0% hernia 10.) 0% rt breast scar I'm currently rated 100% SMC S and I'm paid at the housebound rate. I'm a little confused. Another veteran told me I should be rated L or L1/2 because I was getting paid the housebound rate prior to Migraines and Asthma being increased from 10% to now 50% and 60%. Is this true? I read on one forum (can't r…

ptsd Got Smc L1/2 Rating Instead Of T
Va recently awarded me smc at L rate for ptsd, tbi and residuals. They put me at 100 %ptsd, still at 10%tbi, 30%migraines,30%scalp fragment wound, 10%painful scar. They stated I needed to be 100% for tbi which is not true. All my shit is tbi and ptsd. Anyway any advice. I mite have to put them on blast.

Filed form for housebound/aid and attendance
My pcp filled out the form and marked it was for my sc conditions, listed them and marked in box 23 that I needed help with toileting, hygiene, feeding, meds, etc. at least 7-10 days a month. When I go on ebenefits it says under pending disabilites smc s for agoraphobia (I am not rated for agoraphobia). I have a diagnosis of panic disorder with agoraphobia which the mh cp dismissed as secondary to my sc mh condition. The need for aid and attendance is related to my other service connected issues. Does this seem odd and should I submit something to correct this?

Question About Smc L, Resulting From A&a Fm Sc
If a Veteran who is 90%, IU P&T meets the requirements for SMC L Aid & Attendance for a combination of SC conditions, it appears that that route to SMC L is NOT PREDICATED on SC percentages. Is that correct? I think it is... Assuming it is correct, and the Veteran also met the criteria for SMC K (for loss of use of creative organ), AND had SC disabilities of 90% (none of which meet schedular "loss of" sight, appendages, etc.) Wouldn't that mean L1/2 plus SMC K? And if we assume all of the above except Veteran is 100% schedular, wouldn't that mean SMC M plus SMC K? And last question - it appears one must be SMC, O in order to qualify for the higher …
