How Much Weight Does Medication Play In Decision
Question: How much weight in the claims decision process does medication for a specific disease and/or disorder play? I was given both Serentil and then Mellaril for an acute schizophrenic episode during a three month hospital stay on a psychiatric ward in the Navy, in 1973. Both are use to treat specifically for schizophrenia, but now are only recommended when at least two other types of medication are tried, because of bad side effects on the heart beat. I am now taking Quetiapine Fumarate, which is also used to treat schizophrenia. Basically it is to keep the bezare thoughts and ideals that I get from time to time. None of these meds are exactly a drug that…

Duty To Assist Development
I was reading over my rating decision letter, which is dated April 17, 2001. Several of the items I put in claims for service connection were deferred. Under the 'analysis' heading for each deferred item, it says The issue of compensation for left foot pain is deferred for the following information: duty to assist development." What does that mean, 'duty to assist development'. The claim is clearly beyond a year old. Does this leave the door open for me to submit new information and, if rated, be backdated to the date of my initial claim? I'm really not clear on what they mean by duty to assist development. I do know some new regs came into effect back then concern…

Veteran Assets
If everyone gets the same results, as I have, with the 800 number, maybe you should try this route. https://iris.va.gov/scripts/iris.cfg/php.ex...nduser/home.php This iris question process usually gets an you answer in 5 business days. It might not be the one you want. The up side to the iris is, when they answer, you have record to print for verification later in building a case and claim of what they said. The down side is you will anger them because they had much rather answer where there is no verification process or record. Danang_1969

tinnitus 1. C&p Down And One To Go.
Well I had my hearing and tinnitus C&P yesterday. The Lady who gave it to me has done my last two hearing test for hearing test for hearing test for hearing aides. Believe it or not it was on one of these visits that I took my discharge separation hearing test and ask her if I should file a claim. After one glance she said I should have filed thirty years ago. I had significant loss in my left ear. It has progressed to ninety on the pure tone with 32 percent speech discrimination on my last test eight months ago. She told my Wife and me that this test was nearly the same as then. On my last test she wrote on her report that I also suffered from tinnitus, ve…
