ptsd A&a
First I want to thank Berta for the help she gave us in filing my husband's claim. He was, eventually, given 100% for PTSD. He was denied for his brain stem meningioma/agent orange claim. I guess I will have to find the energy to argue that one, but we found out I had leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant- it worked, but I'm tired. Now I have a question regarding Aid and Attendance. Our service officer said that the disability to claim A&A does not have to be service related, to have any doctor we see regularly to fill out the form, and to make sure he/she "checks the TOP box" (requires daily personal health care services of a skilled provider without wh…

tdiu Very Important Legislation
Look this is a LARGE bill but there's a BUNCH of very important changes being made to disability determination, PAST Physical Evaluation Board Decisions (backdated to Sept 11, 2001), Concurrent Receipt for TDIU vets rated at 100% schedular or TDIU backdated to Dec 2004... it goes on and on. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?t...;bill=h110-1585 I think all vets should read this bill that WILL be signed into law very soon. It's just waiting for the Presidents signature and he's already said he will sign it. Scan the ENTIRE bill, and look for ANYTHING that says veteran. Further look thru the amendments, and look at the stuff there. Seriously this is some r…

Billateral Factor Of 1.9%
I know I have not been on here for a while, I have been struggling with my old friends depression and suicide. yesterday morning I knocked the ceiling fan light off the ceiling fan with my hand, broken glass everywhere along with in my hand. i got two SSOC's yesterday in regards to my DRO Hearing in august. The good news is they granted me 70% for my pain syndromes all the way back to the day after discharge when before the pain syndrome was ignored and there was no mental rating until a year later when I got a rating for depression. I beleive this puts me at 100% the day after retirement. I have to talk to my DAV rep tomorrow. If I read the transcript from the hearing…

Va Helping Tbi
I think this could be one of the best things the VA has done yet to help combat veterans. TBI is often a disability that cannot be seen, not even on some CT scans-yet as brain injury could have lasting affects. The Pakistan Gov is even suggesting that Bhutto was killed not due to bullets, or even to hitting her head on the sun roof lever but possibly due to the brain trauma of the explosion that followed the gun fire and the shock waves from it.We all remember the nanny who caused brain trauma to a child by shaking it. If a vet comes back with undiagnosed TBI that might appear as a sudden persinality change- there goes the basis for a PD diagnosis without looking…

Denial
I admit I have been thinking my arthritis in all my joints are connected and recently figured out they weren't, so I wasn't really surprised at the results, what do I do now. Lumbar was remanded in 86 with no outcome to my knowledge. Do I go back and say I want to reopen this file or file for new SC-reactive arthritis Or I could say that I thought my CE was for reactive arthritis. I know this is complicated but I don't what type of appeal approach to take. Service connection for arthritis, right hand, knees, right foot and scaroiliac. SC may be granted for a disability which begn in military service or was caused by some event or experience in service. S…

Fastest Decision I've Heard Of Ce Recieved 12/18 Decision 12/19
Went to appt, ask if comp rating had been updated (still waiting for them to put in the increase from a year ago) told your 60% ( I was 40%) I saw I was given 10% for pain in L wrist and 10% L foot. This means I was denied for my Right wrist, both knees, L anlke, SI joints, Right Foot and Ankle. I was also denied IU and depression. I never applied for either. It was stated in my letters that I was depressed and my doctor considered me P&T Oh I also noted that my rating of 20% was for cervical and lumbar arthritis it has never said lumbar before just cervical. This is obvious to me they were denying my claim from the get go. I called the 800 number on 12/1…

Opinions On Ltr To Support Claim
Trying to make this usable for both SSA and VA any opinions would be nice, do you think it covers both service connect (active 75-78) and depression due to condition. I am writing this letter on behalf of my patient xxxxx. I first saw xxxx in 1983-1986, then from 2005 to present. Ms xxxx symptoms have been steadily increasing in magnitude since 1977 when it was noted she had reactive arthritis in her sacroiliac joints, xxxx has progressively worsen over the past 2 years. It is my opinion the arthritis in all joints Ms xxxx suffers from is related. I would consider her to be permanently and totally disabled due to her arthritis as dictated in my notes. Due to the …
