Recent Voc Rehab Experience
Looking back on my experience raises questions. 50% SC, 47 y/o Serious Employment Handicap, offered by ch 31 to attend a school 30 mi away for a professional cert. I moved to the county where school is located, rent + ut increases to $950 from $600. I slowly bleed my savings to pay for this while living in poverty. I also take out $1800 in student loans. Oh btw, no laptop, printer, etc like some think is guaranteed. My laptop request including email from teacher regarding computer classwork was refused. Finished cert in one year, no jobs in this field. School books are 3 years old which made it impossible to even practice the work, so the gov't didn't even get what t…

"stardust Radio Network"
fwd from Mike Harris............. Hello All, Earlier this year I was asked to host a web based radio broadcast dealing with veterans matters. "Jerrel Cook", who owns the "Surviving Veterans Resolve" (SVR) portion of the "Stardust Radio Network" (SRN) then asked me to do a 2nd show on August 22, 2007. I termed the program "VA Claims 101" and it came off very nicely according to the listeners. A couple of weeks ago Jerrel asked me to consider doing a once a month show with more of a "Christian" emphasis for veterans. Early next year he would like to increase the broadcasts to 4 per month. This is a wonderful opportunity...! The call-in talk sho…

Turned Down For Increase
I had a C&P examine recently and was turned down for an increase in disibility for my current rt knee problems. My current rating is 10%. I had am MRI which shows a torn medial meniscus. I have been having problems at work with my knee locking and I am unable to squat and perform my duties as I used to in the past. I submitted this evidence to the V.A. but they turned me down anyhow. They said because the evidence does not show a marked interference with employment or frequent periods of medical care an increase in compensation is not warranted. Do I have any other options available to me. If I file a NOD will I have to go back to the V.A. office and provide more evid…

ptsd C & P Friday
I got a phone call several days ago that informed me of a C & P to come this Friday. I received the letter a couple of days after. I have chronic otitis in my left ear which I claimed as a secondary condition. I lost hearing in the Army (currently rated at 50% (and probably should be 60, based on minimums being exceeded to eliminate the speech recognition, which drops me) Because of my military hearing loss, I wear hearing aids. The hearing aids irritate my ears. I have been diagnosed with L chronic otitis externa by VA and private Dr.'s alike and submitted documentation upfront. This claim was the only one I've ever had denied. I was confronted wi…

Question On Cue Process
Hi everyone, I have been working on and researching the CUE Claim Process. Today I called the PVA paralyzed veterans of America, this was the winston salam office in NC where my Orginal claim was denied. I did this because that was the place the CUE was commited on my claim. I thought that might be the place to file the CUE because that VARO would be the RO that gave me that decision. :( :( Well I explained to the PVA officer the reason of the deniel and stated that I found the records that the decision was made without- and they should have had when making the decision. He said that without me appealing the original decision within one year that the deci…

Aid And Attendance
Since I am undergoing this process for R2 or R1 (whichever they decide) I thought it might be a good idea to start a topic and discuss what others went thru to receive it.... Currently my VA Primary Care doctor has stated that I would require skilled care 24-7 at home, or a referral to a nursing home. I filed the claim stating that if they couldn't provide the necessary funding, or some sort of home healthcare providers.. well they would need to place me in a nursing facility. They came back with this huge list of claims... I was actually shocked. I wrote them back stating that no I was not attempting to claim this or that... (I thought that listing my claims 1-…

TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY LECTURE DRAFT LECTURE Most of you already know this history of denial but let’s review this section anyway VA’s distancing themselves from the problem early on and meeting behind closed doors with medical directors from Monsanto and Dow.
