Hi, Just a follow up on my re-open file case: Tinnitus & OSA(Sleep Apnea) - Secondary to DM-II & Hypertension=>AO.. Originally submitted about 4 months ago. This past week, I received a letter stating what they have so far which includes all med. records, etc. They have it all, took the OSA(pulmonary/CPAP) lab testing also. Have not heard anything about Tinnitus exam, though. Meantime, I went ahead and sent to VARO the VCAA Notice Response indicating that I have no other information or further evdence. It also stated "Please decide my claim as soon as possible" from the portion I checked off. I believe it will take 60+ days to wrap up the claim? Is t…

"Faster OK sought for Agent Orange claims By Rick Maze - Staff writer Posted : Friday Nov 9, 2007 8:16:08 EST http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/11/mili...ervets_071108w/ The chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee has a radical idea to cut the huge and seemingly intractable backlog of veterans’ benefits claims. To focus on handling new claims from Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, Rep. Bob Filner, D-Calif., says the Department of Veterans Affairs should approve — with minimal questioning — claims filed by Vietnam veterans, especially those whose claims deal with exposure to the toxic herbicide Agent Orange. In an interview Thursday, Filner said h…

When All Else Fails.......
I am making this post as a last effort to find some type of info concerning help for financial hardship situation before I file bankruptcy. I have sought help from all the service organizations and my state and local social services, to no avail. I am in the process of filing for SSI, but was told it will take approx. 90-120 days for decision. I am so disappointted in our government agencies that fail to recognize the plights of veterans. It seems that veterans are at the bottom of the pole when it comes to receiving any type of help in situations as this. I was even told by agencies to; canvass the community for donations. I can't believe that a citizen that fought for h…

I am unable to work due to pain, pain meds, psych meds leave me in a constant loopy state. I tried taking the VA morphine pills they worked but left me with night mares and flash backs something fearful, after a week of the haunted…

C & P Exam For Degenerative Joint Disease
Just recieved John's C & P report on degererative joint disease of the right and left hip. This was an appeal 2ndry to his back. diagnosis: mild degernerative joint disease of the right and left hip. Discussion: for the veteran's bilateral hips, it is less likely than not that the veteran's bilateral mild degenerative joint disease was caused by his service connected low back condition. It is unlikely that hip arthritis is caused by arthritis in the lower back. it is less likely than not that the back condition permanently aggravated the hip arthritis. Question: John is rated 100%, should we presue this or should we just drop it? Has anyone ever tried to pr…
