Va Rero Pay
Hello Hadit, I've Relocated to Alabama and haven't posted in a year or so. I requested info on my va retro pay and found out that since my file is still at the appeals manangement center (already been there two years) I won't get any retro pay until my appeal is completed and file returned to the RO. Anyone else know this? Also has anyone received any approvals from the AMC lately? I was approved for the assisted living program through VOC REHAB and given a Computer. Maybe this will help with my IU claim. Glad to be back among the greatest people in the world and look foward to working with you all again. The Board has changed a lot so if I make a few mistakes p…

Can You Be Rated At 100% Comp And Still Have Be
All, I have a question that I don't remember comming across. Can you be rated 100% by the VA and still allowed to have a job? Or do they expect you to not work, because you are rated at 100% I am not sure what the other issues arise with 100% such as IU. Thanks, Joe

ptsd I'm Worried About This Kid
A friend's step-son had enlisted in the Marines under the delayed entry program while six months out till 18. A couple of weeks ago (a month before actuall entry) he tried to hang himself. He was of course admitted to a state facility for a short time. Obviously he's a person with emotional issues at this time. He has since threatened his mother that he was going to do it again. I told my friend that the Marines would no longer allow him to enlist in his current condition. A few days later he told me that the recruiters told him that there would be no problem with his enlistment. I guess the service must REALLY need personell. The kid is a good, likable guy but has …

Interesting B.v.a. Decision 38 Cfr 3.951
http://www.va.gov/vetapp93/files1/9309592.txt Preservation of ratings shouldn't be a surprise to anyone familiar with the pertinent CFR's, but this one has a "twist". Basically the veteran had an operation for bladder cancer in the 60's while in service. The VA awarded a 100% rating during the recovery and recuperation period, provided the veteran waived his retirement. He declined and didn't respond to the award letter. Fast forward to the 1990's. The veteran decides he now wants VA compensation, but his residuals are only rated at 20% by the VARO for his in-service bladder operation. The BVA says, "Nope. He's been rated at 100% plus SMC for 20 years. Just be…

Vamcs To Stay Open Longer
From : email from VA OPA Press- VA: "VA Medical Centers Extending Hours Change Benefits New Combat Veterans, Older Vets WASHINGTON (June 15, 2007) -- In order to provide more health care for more veterans, especially mental health services, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson has directed the 153 medical centers of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to keep their doors open longer. "Illness doesn't follow a 9-to-5 schedule," Nicholson said. "I'm directing our medical centers to provide extended hours to ensure we're there for the veterans who have earned our care." Although the extra hours apply to many hospital-based programs and services, N…

Help With Migraine Claim
The Seattle VA has already service connected my migraines. They have established a frequency of 3-4 a month. They have awarded service connection at 0%. They claim that there is no evidence to show they are "prostraing in nature". In my SMR my family practice doctor documents the following symptoms photophobia, sound sensitivity, pain, nausea, and vomiting. How can any logical person come to the conclusion that these symptoms are not prostrating in nature. What do I need to do to appeal this claim? Thanks
