Atty For Vets Regs-
The proposed regs are about 24 pages long- they include this clause and I had no idea that VA counsel had any jurisdiction over our reps-I don't know if this is a new criteria or if it was always somewher in the regs but I sure never saw this before- I had a recent matter with Regional Counsel up here at the Buffalo VA- it was obvious to him I am sure that I had gotten lousy representation up to that point.I believe I used the term 'idiots' referring to 2 of my reps- and certainly told him they didnt have a clue on basic VA 101. I sure am copying this baby------- (d) Accreditation or authority to provide representation on a particular claim shall be canceled …

Champ Va
We are filling out the application for Champ VA. It does say to attach a copy of the DD-214. Is there anything else that needs to go with the application? I did a search but can't find where it says what is required. I know a lot of people here have just done this also. Thanks for the help.

Attention All A Must Read About Your Local Va
With all do respect to the people who are in the VA who try really hard to make things better, if there are people here. I hope people read this because I am furious. In Buffalo VA alone, 5 VA execs totaled bonuses of 85,000 in bonuses. Here is the major problem VA Execs were on the board and giving themselves or each other bonuses....currently (as of today) the Office of Personnel Management is investigating....and a Senator from NY proposes a freeze on the bonuses until the VA reduces the backlog to 100,000 claims. Check it out. I have uploaded it as an attachment. VA_20BONUSES_202006_20__201.pdf

ptsd Veterans On C-span
I watched Representative Filner and his committee on C-Span. Filner is obviously a friend of disabled vets. Some of the others I am not so sure of regarding some of the comments on PTSD and IU. I think as long as democrates stay in control of the house and senate there will be no whole sale slashing of benefits. This is one case where the lines are drawn very clearly. Satel and her bunch of neo-conservatives are our enemies. Billions for the war in Iraq and nickles and dimes for the troops welfare. I am not so sure about our VSO's either. I think the DAV and VFW would sell us out in a heartbeat if it means keeping their choke hold on being the POA's of vets for disab…

diabetes Berta...full Reply To My 1st Post Re: "just Got 21-8940.."
hi again, BERTA Yes, I have a "chronic PTSD" diagnosis from VA Mental Health clinic, incl severe Depressive Disorder. Also, a Soc Sec ALJ that found fully for unemployability granted Disability Insurance Benefits stating, "... medical evidence establishes that the claimant has the following 'severe' impairments: post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive disorder, diabetes mellitus, and osteoarthritis." Further he states, "...because of the claimant's PTSD as well as his depression, the undersigned finds that not only can the claimant not return to his past relevant work, but the specific skills he acquired would not be readily transferable to any other sedentary jo…

ptsd C & P Exam Question
Here I am back again with another question. Last June when my husband put in his claim it was for PTSD,Hearing loss,Hernia,Thumb injury,Depression. He received a letter from the VA today. This is the first paragraph: "In order to process your claim for compensation or pension benefits, the Veterans Benefits Administration has requested a current medical examination. We have scheduled this examination for; Tuesday June 5,2007 2:00PM C&P Dr. XXXXXXX I decided to look up Dr. XXXX on the web and found out he is a Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon. This just seems very strange to us since my husband has no claim for heart problems. We thought when he went in for h…

Legal Beagle Question
It is my understanding that lawyers can only be hired after a NOD has been filed. Also the VCAA states that a legal VCAA notice -specific to the claimed disability as well as the response elction form will be sent out to the claimant PRIOR to the initial denial-- yeah right- In my letter to Senator Schumer I am asking him to propose an amendment to 38 USC -Part IV, Chap 51, SubChap 1, Section 5103- aka the VCAA as follows (still trying to word it better) Upon receipt of a VCAA letter or notice that is not highlighted as to a statement specific to the veteran or widow's claim, clearly identifying exactly what the claimant needs as defined within Kent V Nichols…
