tinnitus Veterans Wife Seeking Advise
I hope someone can offer some advise B) My Viet Nam Vet husband has had medical symptoms for some time. Because of not having health insurance he put off going to the doctor and tried to handle problems through vitamins etc. He finally consented to going to the VA for help. He has just begun treatment for Diabetis type 2, hypertention, hyperlipidemia, advanced cardiac artery disease, periferal neuropathy, tinnitus and ED which is a result of all the medications). They thought he had a heart attack during the stress test so they sent him for a nuclear profusion test which was positive. We went to private facilty and paid for a CT of his heart. His cardiac score is 1…

Va Med Records And C & P Exams
I'm looking for the statute or regulation that discusses the requirement that the C & P examiner already have read the veterans file, and in fact, has the veterans file present during the C & P. Can anyone help, I think it's in 38 USC, Section 5107, but I'm having problems finding it and need it by Tuesday next week. Will keep looking, but if anyone has it bookmarked, please let me know. Thanks!

diabetes Peripheral Neuropathy Causes
Peripheral Neuropathy Causes (Thanks Brenda) Most of you have seen my postings on this Peripheral Neuropathy (PN) issue with Vietnam Veterans and the VA’s stand on this disorder as it relates to any of the toxic chemicals associated. That VA stand, being that diabetes is the only cause of the 10’s of thousands or more of Vietnam Era Veterans with PN, which of course is totally unscientific. Vietnam Veterans are “hoping they get diagnosed with diabetes” so they can be compensated for their real crippling disorder; which is a sad statement indeed. Yet, I get those types of statements all the time. Give me diabetes so I can get covered for the actual cr…

Rating Reduction
Hello All: I need some guidance please. After I rated above 100% overall SC conditions (90% real rating)(skin 50+severe headaches 30+depresion 30) and requested IU, I was (C&P) reevaluated briefly again for my SC Skin condition rated and stablished for more than ten years at 50% and the condition was reduced to 10%. I am rated at 60 % now. Thus taking away any posibilities of IU been approved. By letter I mentioned to them that this was not a rate increase case like they have treated these one, but a rate reduction case and they had to abide by the written law(Sorakubo V.Principi) but they make no mention to this fact on their decision. They base and sustain thi…

diabetes Diabetes Insipidus And Closed Head Injuries
I am new to the board. Thank you for any advice that might be put forward. I was medically discharged due to a closed head injury incurred during a routine jump. I spent time at Walter Reed & Emory Hospital. I was awarded a rating of 30% for some nerve damage and post concussion syndrome. That was 5 years ago. Since that time, I've had continuing medical problems. My internist (and primary) referred me to an endocrinologist who discovered through blood work and a MRI that I have diabetes insipidus. My body releases over 2 gallons of water, leaving me in a constant state of deydration, reduced cerebellum functioning, urination several times an hour, and high leve…

Gulf War Survey Site Up And Running
fwd: Gulf War Survey site up and running There is a "SUPER" Gulf War Website up and running with surveys, and such at: http://www.gulfvetsurvey.org/ Wish our Nam Veterans had had the Internet back then for the same thing. Probably be a lot more alive today with the data that could have been collected and then ran down the Presidents we have had "throats" as they and their executive branch appointees like the DOD and the VA said, look all this stuff regarding toxic chemicals is just all in your head, trust us! The problem is; it actually was literally. I want you to go there and look at the percentage of those taking t…
