1151 Soc Soon
I have recieved word that the 1151 claim originally filed in 2000 has been answered (denied)and in on the way. I had long suspected this would happen as the VARO would not have wanted to make a decision regarding this case. Afterall I had to come to Colombia South America to get IV Antibiotics of all things just to survive. When I get the information I will post it to the board and be looking for your input. This claim has never been before the BVA and cannot imagine it will be denied in the end as I have a VA Chief neurologist specifically writing there was infact an error in diagnosis that went untreated for years. I wrote the Comgressional investigation…

I have just been rated for my hips and knee. I sent in a NOD to increase my rating for my hips which was denied. That issue I will appeal. I have not sent in a NOD for my knee and would like to know if I can send in a NOD for that issue even though it is on the same rating decision as the hips. I hope this makes sense to you guys sometimes I don't express myself well. Anybody know if it can be done?

How Do I Find Out If My Doctor Is Board Certified?
Q:6 How do I find out if my doctor is board certified? A:6 You can check on specific physicians through the ABMS Website at "Who's Certified." Verbal verification is available through the ABMS toll-free telephone service by calling 1-866-ASK-ABMS (275-2267). Verification is available in The Official ABMS Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists, published annually. The Directory can be found in many medical and public libraries. Written verification is available by contacting the individual specialty board in the physician's field of practice. http://www.abms.org/Newsearch.asp

Spinal Expertise Needed.
Yesterday I was at my doctors, I asked him to do a chest xray and a referal for a PFT in preperation for my asbestosis claim. Anyway I was looking at the chest xray and it seems my spine between my shoulder blades is not strait, it kinda curves. They shoot a 2nd xray and my spine is also curved on that one. I asked the doctor about it and he said yes it was curved but not enough to get him excited. :) (He says my lungs look pretty good but is gonna get em read by radiologist.) Considering the problem I am having with my claim for my herniated disk http://www.hadit.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2635&hl= I got real excited. Isnt there a condition where your musc…

ptsd List Of Recent Bva Cue's
Carlie, Here's a list of recent (2002-2005) CUE decisions concerning specifically "FAILURE TO CONSIDER EVIDENCE". I included a short quote from the decision to help you decide which might be helpful. Will be going through CVAC's decisions soon also. If I find anything I think might help you I'll post it here. Angela http://www.va.gov/vetapp05/files1/0503568.txt rating decision failed to consider evidence of a PTSD stressor found in the veteran's service medical records, and even noted on a deferred rating decision prior to the VA examination in November 1997. 4. The unappealed April 1990 RO decision, which denied service connection for PTSD, was undebatably err…

General Accounting Office Says Vcaa Needs Further Monitoring
Here's a report about the failings of the VCAA letters. It's a .pdf file, so you'll need a reader. Shucks, it won't let me attach it for some reason...if someone wants it I can send it to you privately.

Chiropractic Care
Does anyone know if the VA will pay or help pay for chiropractic care? I go to a chiropractor, which really helps my back pain. I would go more often but its not cheap.

1151 Claim
I am brand new to the board. About a year ago I had an operation on my nose at the VA hospital. It was for a diviated syptom and they also did some plastic surgury. Before the operation I could breath fine, only at night did I have a problem. Now my nose is constantly plugged, and I have terrible headaches that I never had before. My nose problem is 1,000 times worse than it was before the operation. I have complained at the hospital and they said they could go in my nose again, but it was only a 50/50 chance they could fix the problem. I never had the problem before. I don't trust them, and I don't want the VA screwing with my nose again. EN&T also told me I…
